"Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are always happy to hear from our satisfied customers."
Ron Brock HVAC was the reason I joined Angie's List in the first place. I was desperate to find an HVAC company that would do a better job than I got from Ron Brock. This was back well before Ron Brock joined Angie's List. I did find a great HVAC company on Angie's List and have been very satisfied with their work.
Back to the Ron Brock Experience. It was a larger than average residential job replacing four units stolen by copper thieves. One new unit right out of the box need one of the components replaced to work properly. On another unit, the outside compressor didn't work at all and had to be removed and replaced with another. One of the drip pans in the attic wasn't installed level, the drain was above the corner of the pan. The pan filled up and over flowed and I had water draining out of the ceiling of my living room. This means that both the guy that installed the pan and the supervisor that checked his work were not paying attention. Ron Brock did pay to repair the ceiling damage at their expense. On another unit, there was a small hole in the duct work coming off the air handler that significantly reduced the unit's ability to cool and it dramatically increased the humidity (it was almost like a green house). After two trips, the techs couldn't find any problem. My general contractor found the hole and fixed it.
I was very dissatisfied with the service manager. I understand he has since been replaced. He was always willing to send someone out to look at my problems and the techs were always courteous and nice. For $20,000.00, I wanted more than nice. I wanted work that was done right the first time and equipment that worked like it was supposed to from the get go. I didn't expect that new equipment would need repairs right out of the box to work. Where was the manufacturer's quality control?
I also had issues with the ability of the units to cool my house to my satisfaction. I had uneven cooling in different parts of the house that were on the same and different zones. Also, my contention is that no matter what the temperature is outside, I aught to be able to get the indoor temperature down to 72 degrees any time I want to. During the hottest times of the day (mid to late afternoon), when it is 110+, if my house was at 76-78 degrees and I wanted to go a degree or two lower, the thermostat wouldn't budge until the sun went down. The Ron Brock answer was that the system was working within acceptable limits.
The Ron Brock people were out to my house so often, I am sure they cringed every time they heard my name.

"Thank you for taking the time to review us. Condensate drain lines are one of the many reasons to make sure your system is checked at least once a year. As you have experienced, those drain lines can become clogged unexpectedly. Being aware of the conditions around your home, as you seem to be, will help to decrease the chance of damage to your equipment and your home. We look forward to being your trusted service provider for your air quality and comfort needs."
