(Sorry, I mixed these up; the story from start to finish is listed above, and here are the services he performed:) Diagnosed and repaired personal computer with long-standing issues of slowness, connectivity and error messagesInstalled and tested all-in-one printer/ fax machine/ copierInstructed how to change settings on printer
Description of Work: Yes, Dave is a nerd, but in a good way. He's polite, funny, soft-spoken and a genuine Computer Whiz- exactly the kind of person you want to work on your PC. So far he's helped us on three occasions. The first time, he spent about 2 hrs. on an in-home service call, trying to fix long-standing issues with slowness, error messages & connectivity; he ended up taking the unit back to his shop for repairs, and brought it back, good as new, the next day. We'd previously had three so-called "computer experts" try to diagnose the problem, but to no avail. Dave clearly knew his business, and exorcised all the Evil Computer Genies, for good. The total bill, after Angie's List discount, was $181.69 & well worth every cent. On his second visit, he hooked up a new all-in-one printer (what, you don't expect ME to read the MANUAL, do ya?), cleaned up the dust bunnies (actually, dust elephants) under the equipment, and even disconnected all those cables & cords that haven't been plugged into anything since 1982. More importantly, Dave is a perfectionist; while he said the fax machine was "functional", he wasn't 100% satisfied until he traced some noise in the phone lines to a faulty wall jack, which we later replaced. For our third experience, he solved a programming/ set-up problem over the phone, immediately- and for free. This guy rocks. What we especially like about Dave is his ability to explain complicated technical issues in plain, easy-to-understand English without being patronizing. His billing is clear and straight-forward ($85 per hour, to closest quarter-hour, with 15% discount for Angie's List members). We unhesitatingly recommend him for anything having to do with either business or personal computers, equipment, installation and repairs.
