Tom Rubino is a professional drainage artist. I hired Tom not because he was the cheapest quote I had but because I had some major drainage problems in my back yard and I did not want a landscape company to put in a percolated drain pipe that would wear out in 5 years. Tom came up with a permanent solution that will last for 25 + years. I have a long patio that creates an "L" shape. Tom came up with the Idea to add channel drains to each side which would create not only a solution for the problem of flooding but be aesthetically satisfying as well. The channel drains on each side went through five 12 inch drains and each had a 50-gallon custom drain well with a submersible pump that went through my back yard fence and to the front yard on both sides. His work crew has been with him for 20 years and are professional in every way. They would show up on time and clean up each day. I may need future service from Landscape Drainage Solutions and will definitely use them again.

Like most folks, we didn't take aggressive action to fix drainage issues until AFTER our house flooded during a big late summer rain storm. After that somewhat traumatic event, I did extensive research on drainage and met with 6-8 contractors over many months. Certain ones said they simply could not help us with our unique situation; others seemed to know what they were talking about at first but then it became clear later that they had limited real experience engineering solutions that stand up over time (should I be the one educating a contractor on what a french drain is?). And then there was Tom. Someone who's actually dedicated his company to landscape drainage and has done this many many times. His price seemed a little high at first -- but ultimately we decided we couldn't cut corners on this project and needed to do it right the first time. In the end, I believe that his price was fair. Tom and his crew (who are excellent and have been with him for years) did a fantastic job and Tom answered all of many questions and addressed my concerns. The crew was on-time, cleaned up after each day on the job, and Tom was on-site for much of the job. After our house flooded initially, I would feel very nervous when it rained, and now I have peace of mind. In hindsight, I really wish I hadn't taken so long to research all of our options and compare contractors -- I really should have just trusted and gone with Tom.

When our pool was built the construction company disturbed the drainage system around our patio and one side of the house.  After running three sump pumps around my home for 13 years during rain storms, it is so nice to know that now when it rains all the water will go where it is supposed to go.  When I ran across this information on Tom I did some research and decide to give him a call.  They did extensive digging and trenching to get the system installed.  When the job was done, you would never know that anyone had done any work in our yard.  The only visible signs are the drain covers that now move the water.  Tom and his crew took excellent care of us and have totally solved our water problems.  We made it through a very rainy AZ summer and not a bit of standing water.  I sure wish I had done this years ago.  I actually look forward to rain now!

My Wife and I would like to thank Tom Rubino of Landscape Drainage Solutions for his recent follow-up and the quality work installing our Stormwater Drainage System. After the record rain fall, we experienced two weeks ago, at our Scottsdale home, would have been flooded and facing considerable out-of-pocket cleanup and remediation costs.
The Cost for having a well-designed stormwater drainage system installed by a highly professional, competent and qualified contractor like Tom Rubino and Landsape Drainage Solutions, paid for itself in less than 24 hours, great ROI in anyone's book. When Tom first assessed our situation and saw our photos of standing water in our side and back yards from previous storm events, he knew exactly how to resolve our stormwater drainage problem. Simply move the stormwater out of the side and back yards to the front yard and into street.
Tom recommended using a combination of slot/channel drains annd five 9-inch box drains feeding into a 50 gallon heavy duty PVC sump tank with a submergible pump. The pump moved the captured rainwater over 75' from the sump tank to a and quot;popupand quot; installed in our front yard where the rainwater would be safely channeled into the street and untimely into the cities stormwater management system.
Before we hired Tom Rubino and Landscape Drainage Solutions to do our project, we met with several other contractors who claimed they could solve our rainwater drainage issues. Their cost and approach to our rainwater drainage problems were all over the map. What sold us on Landscape Drainage Solutions was Tom Rubino, is honest and professional approach to our problem, his 2-year work and materials guarantee and lastly, Tom's sincerity, what he says he does. Landscape Drainage Solutions is a great Companty to do business with. Tom took the stress out of a stressful situation. Both my wife and I woul like to thank you again, Tom, for giving us peace of mind with our stormwater drainage issues--the system worked flawlessly. We have not seen a single pool of standing rainwater in either our side or back yards.

Tom Rubino's crew arrived as scheduled, removed and stored the granite rock, reshaped the drainage area, applied a plastic bedding and covered it with river rock. They then replaced the granite rock and added additional river rock and granite rock as needed. Cleanup afterwards was outstanding.

The thing that made me get up this morning and write this review, is the test that happened this week to show Tom's committment to quality and service. We had a very big rain this week since the system had been installed. When we got up in the middle of the night, we noticed that 6and quot; of water was on the back lower patio and the system was not draining. I wrote to Tom at 4am in the morning and told him the system wasn't working. I expected to call him later that morning to see when he could come out to fix the system. At 7am I was sitting in my home office and heard voices outside. Tom had brought his crew over immediately and began to assess the problem (The float on the sump pump had stuck). He fixed it, and the water drained out of the backyard immediately. He made another fix to make sure it doesn't happen again in the future. Tom didn't finish the job a few months back, take the check to the bank, and forget about us. We didn't have to beg or threaten him to come out, it was a matter of the professional service that he provides, standing by everything that he installs. I would personally recommend Tom and Landscape Drainage Solutions for anyone that wants great value, professionalism and a man that stands beside the services he provides.

Tom and crew reported promptly each morning. As stated above, they were hard working and dug trenches around the foundation of the house and installed catch basins and put a seemless gutter over the patio area. A sump pump was installed on the border of the property to release the water.

They also installed a separate drainage pipe for my backwash on my pool. Excellent Job! After a few weeks, I used the backwash and the drainage worked great but was going into a downward slope near city equipment. I contacted Tom of Landscape Drainage and explained the problem. My husband and I went away for a few days and upon our return, I drainage pipe was extended and the problem solved. THIS IS TRULY GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. They are the only ones that have this specialty service and therefore I went with them. They were very professional. They basically did what was necessary but they were quick to point out that wasn't necessary. There were a couple of things that I asked about and they said that I didn't need to do that. So they did not up sell me on anything. The Landscape Drainage Solutions and the gutter company that they contracted work with were both very professional. I thought they were fairly priced. They did a very good quality job of getting everything installed. So one of the things I tell people is that, if I didn't know that the work had been done, I wouldn't have noticed it. I wasn't able to shop around as much because there weren't any competing companies who do the same thing. I was very happy with what I got from them though. I thought it was a good price considering everything they did. I will use their services again in the future.
