We selected JBS Roofing last May after having 10 other contractors come out, and give us a quote for a new roof. JBS Roofing was not the cheapest of the 10, but they took the time to explain things in every detail. We were told that this would take 4-5 days to complete. It did not. More like 15 days before all of our issues were somewhat straightened out. As it turns out selecting JBS Roofing was the worst decision we ever made, I guess we fell for the sales pitch. Everything seemed to be going fine on day one, and day two as they removed the old roof. On day three no one even showed up, because apparently the equipment to load the new tiles onto the roof was unavailable. We were not informed of this until the following day. No phone call, no text. On the 4th day, on the back side of the roof where it meets the patio, they decided that they would stop one row short with the tile of the roof meeting the patio. What employee thought "hey that looks OK"??? (see pictures) After speaking with the supervisor, they added another row of tile so that it met with where it joined the patio. Also on the fourth day the heavy equipment that they used to load the tiles on the roof put a crack in our driveway. We spoke to the supervisor, and he agreed to get that fixed. The cement company (Blue Steel Builders) came out, and replaced the entire slab of the driveway. We have a texture pattern on our driveway which they tried to match, and the color is so far off, it's unbelievable. Literally like night and day (see pics)... again what employee thought "hey that looks good)??? It's not even a close match. They used chocolate brown when our driveway is sand colored. The cement company has come out several times to try to make it match to no avail, and eventually ghosted us by not returning my phone calls. In hindsight , I would rather have the cracked driveway then this comedic joke of what they call a fix. We should have never asked for the repair On the fifth day , while we were expecting them to finish, they ran out of tile, and the garage, and front patio were not complete. What roofing company that has been in business for over thirty years runs out of tile ??? Rookie mistake. We were told they would be back to finish on Tuesday because Monday was Memorial Day. Come Tuesday no one shows up, instead they show up on Wednesday to finish the job. We also have a small section of roofing, maybe two tiles deep over our pop out kitchen window. They worked on this section of the roof and it looked like a small child did the job. (see photos) Unfortunately I didn't see it because they had left without saying they were finished. You would think a roofing company would at least ring your doorbell, and let you know that they are finished, and let you look around to see how it looks.... not JBS they hop in their trucks, and haul out of town. Another call to the supervisor to have them come out and fix this mess over our kitchen window. He sent someone else from his crew that did a much better job, but the flashing where it met the tile was still separated. So I had to call the supervisor again, and he eventually came out and fixed it himself. So in closing, our roof is finished after much poking, prodding, and frustration. Our driveway is ruined, and like I said , I wish we could go back to just having a cracked driveway. We in no way shape, or form could ever recommend this company to anyone. It's literally amateur hour at JBS. The person who actually recommended this company to me will no longer do so.... I urge you all to stay as far away from this company as you can, unless you like to have $20,000 extracted from your pocket for amateur workmanship. Wish there was a Zero star for this review.

The service was okay. I was disappointed because rather than fixing the problem, they gave me an estimate for additional work. If they were able to fix the problem, that would have been a good Deal. I would not have purchased the Deal if I had known that it was not actually going to fix the problem. The other estimates were saying that the underlayment has to be taken out. Everything has to be redone at some point anyway. I wish now I just got somebody to come out and give me a free estimate and not do anything. They were responsive. They came out when they said they would. I felt like I kind of wasted money, but it is not necessarily their fault. There was just one guy and he was very nice.

The entire experience with JBS Roofing was a pleasure.  The estimator came when scheduled (called on a Friday, scheduled on the following Monday) and was very professional in explaining all that would be done and answering all my questions.  Although the price was $50 higher than another provider, JBS could complete the job a month earlier than the other provider.  I signed the contract and was told that scheduling would likely be about 2 weeks later, but I would get a call in 2 business days to schedule it.  Two days later, I got the call and the date was less than 2 weeks away.
The two men that came to do the work called during the 2 hour window for which they were scheduled and said they were delayed at the previous job and would be about 30 minutes after the 2 hour window.  (Points for communication.)  I am mechanically inclined so I watched them do all the work.  They were careful removing the old gutters that contained a 1/4" of dirt and asphalt shingle gravel.  The one who set up the gutter forming machine talked with me while he worked and answered all questions easily.  The did a careful job of installation and sloped the gutter just the right amount.  The also spray painted all screws that didn't match the gutter color.  Afterward, they swept up all debris on the concrete patio and then blew it off, making it cleaner than when they arrived.
I can't imagine a higher quality job done by more personable workmen.  My job was small (33' of gutter in an L shape with one downspout.)  They charged their minimum of $325 which would have probably covered a larger job so their pricing was not the lowest, but not unreasonable.  They did everything they said they would do and met all promised schedules.   I would highly recommend them.

I purchased this deal because i thought that the contractor was actually going to go up on my roof and make adjustments, small repairs, and actually fix a few things.  Instead he just went up on the roof and inspected it and gave me pricing for repairs.
Even though nothing was done, the contractor that came to my house was very personable.  I guess I only ended up paying for an inspection and not actual work to be performed, which I am bummed about.

It was okay. I wouldn’t hire him again but there wasn’t wrong with it. It was adequate. I didn’t hire him to do any work because I wasn’t impressed with it. They were okay, they weren’t great. I would not recommend them or use them again.

We purchased a roof tune-up, which was to inspect roof, fix any smaller issues, replace up to 25 shingles, fix loose shingles, clean gutters etc.  From what we can tell, they did an inspection, told us we had some loose shingles and bid out for them to fix it.  No actual work was performed.  I got up on roof and there were some loose shingles, gutter remained untouched.  Totally disgusted that we paid for an inspection and didn't get anyting that was promised.  Based on what this was supposed to be and what we got I'd never recommend this company nor do business with them again.

They my appointment 3 months out. When they finally came out they sent a salesman instead of a roofer. He gave estimate for new roof and left. They basically tried to charge $150 bucks for a free estimate.
Response from Jim Brown & Son's Roofing
"Customer purchased the Promotion on 10/13 and provided three dates he would be available for us to inspect the roof. We were able to accommodate his request and inspected his roof on 10/22. Our inspector met with the customers spouse as he was not home. It was explained to the customers wife that they needed a new roof and nothing could be done to repair the leaks within the Angie's List promo. We have requested Angie's List to issue a full refund for the Demos family."

I contacted them by email after an internet search along with several other providers. I received a prompt response  (even after hours) to schedule an estimate appointment. The owner, Ron Brown, arrived promptly as scheduled and discussed details of their products and installation. He followed up in several days with a comprehensive formal quote by email. After receiving another quote on the spot from a salesman who was eager to get an order immediately (at twice the price), we selected Jim Brown and Sons. Ron came out once more to finalize installation details and color.
We signed the contract and scheduled installation several weeks out due to landscaping work that was in process. We paid a 50% deposit via credit card. The work was completed on schedule by two very courteous and professional installers. We we invoiced for the balance and paid by credit card. Everyone from Ron the Owner/President to the office staff and installers were very customer focused and professional. I was especially impressed by our total experience as this is a firm that does large commercial/industrial roofing work and our job was quite small, yet we were treated like a highly valued customer. I highly recommend them.
