Bill is a nice guy, but I could honestly do better work than him, which I had to end up doing. He is really sloppy - he plastered some holes he left in the cupboard where he'd removed shelves and wiped his trowel on the sides of the cupboard and left it there. He dripped stuff wherever he went. I asked him to replace an outdoor junction box. Instead of using connectors, he ran the wires directly into the junction box and propped it up off the ground with rocks. The next time it rained it filled with water. He did to the job well for replacing the track-lighting, installing the new lighting cans, and replastering, but even that was a bit rough, and again, he left a mess. On the drywalling, he didn't insulate it or seal it properly - I had to ask him to redo it a couple of times. I'm not a perfectionist, but if you're going to do that, at least seal it up. Probably the thing that left the worst taste in my mouth was that I felt like he charged me what I thought I could pay rather than what he thought the job was worth. I don't mind paying top dollar, but give me decent quality for it.
