was concerned about getting my house cleaned since I always found thathousecleaners never did the kind of job that I did. She assured me that her crew would do an exceptional job. I asked her if she would clean the refrigerator
out instead of dusting the furniture since there was no furniture to dust. Ialso explained that the only reason I needed a cleaning crew at this time was because I was extremely busy and had no time to clean it myself. Using a voucher on Angie?s list I paid for 3 man
hours for $52.00. Since I can clean my house in less than 2 hours when it is full of furniture, I figured 3 hours was more than enough time for 1 person. I paid ahead of time using my credit card per Dyani's request. My father opened the door to the house for the
cleaning crew and said 3 people showed up. I was surprised because I thought it was going to be 1 person for 3 hours. I asked him how long they stayed and he said not even an hour. I asked him how the house looked and he said it doesn't
really look that cleaned up. My Dad is 80 years old and has had his own house cleaned for the last 7 years. I went to the house to see the cleaning job done and was aghast! The only things that looked like they had been cleaned was the fan above the stove
and the mirrors in the bathroom. The house had been vacuumed but there wasstill dog hair on the stairs and dust on the floor and the refrigerator had notbeen touched! I called Dyani to tell her that the house didn't look like it had been cleaned very well and that the refrigerator had not been touched. She said she would check with her cleaning crew. She replied to me that her cleaning crew
said my house was one of the dirtiest houses they had every cleaned and therewas no way they could clean it in 1 hour, that they would need additional hours that I would have to pay for to clean it properly! She said she would like to meet me at the house and to given the opportunity to clean the refrigerator. I told her that her cleaning crew were not accurate about the status of my house and that I was insulted to be called, "dirty." She defended her cleaning crew and insisted that I was letting her clean out the refrigerator like she had offered to do. I told her that meeting her at the house to redo a poor job was not an option. I reminded her that the only
reason I had contracted a cleaning crew to begin with was because I did not have the time to do it myself and although I would love to meet her at the house, unfortunately, I did not have the time to meet her at the house. Instead, I asked her for a refund. All of this
was done by email which I have saved. I found her tone insulting and less than completely unsatisfactory. She never got back to me about the refund, but instead told methat I was the first customer to ever have complained which is not true given the review on 4/19/2012. Since there was only 1 negative review, I did want to give her an opportunity especially because her initial sales pitch was so cordial and promising. My credit card was charged and I never received a refund. I only hope Angie?s list can somehowhelp me receive the customer satisfaction I expect.
"Thank you for your positive review of our company. The Owner Deborah however does not clean any houses just for clarification."
This registered with me as odd, but it was the day before my birthday, the day before my mom arrived in town, two days before my daughter's 5th birthday and then I had guests in town for Easter. I was eager to get them out of the house. They smelled and I had to pick up my preschoolers.
Needless to say, it wasn't until a week and half later that I realized the door had been scratched repeatedly. And then it all sank in. I immediately called on 4/12 and was told the owner was out of town until 4/18 and left a message for her to call me upon return.
She didn't call me back, so I called her on 4/19. I emailed her the above info along with two pictures of the scratched door. She didn't call me back, so I called her on 4/19. I emailed her the above info along with two pictures of the scratched door. She refuses accept blame for it on grounds that I took too long to complain. She refuses to acknowledge any wrong doing of her employees.
I emailed her a link to the site where we purchased our refrigerator. The costs to replace the unit is around $1200.
Please let me know what is the best thing to do next.
Thanks.
"Dear Member, Thank you for your review. We apologize for one of our employees smelling like cigarette smoke. Our employees are no longer allowed to smoke in uniform. As far as your scratched refrigerator, we do not use any hard abrasives to clean stainless steel refrigerators and based on your observations, you stated that you observed the girls using a soft yellow cloth/rag to clean your refrigerator. Based on your pictures you sent to us 17 days later, the scratches on your refrigerator are very obvious and would not be mistaken as smudges or fingerprints. The scratches are also so bad in the pictures that you sent to use that it wouldnt have taken you a week and a half to "notice" them. The direction of the scratches are "left to right" We train our employees and it is common knowledge in the housecleaning business to clean stainless steel appliances with the grain, which is usually "up and down" on the majority of refrigerators. We are an honest company and have no problem taking responsibility for any damages done to someones house that we caused. Unfortunately, due to our investigation and your constantly changing story, we are unable to be held liable for any damage done to your refrigerator. One thing we have learned from your complaint is that from now on we will point out ANY visible damage to any clients property in their homes before performing work, so that we are not blamed. We have had over 230 new clients since January alone, and over 30 new re-occuring clients since last October, and your complaint is the one and only regarding scratches done to a refrigerator. Thank you, Deborah McAlexander Owner/ Designed By Dyani"
