I previously gave this company 5 stars. I take it all back. This company is not someone you want to deal with. They are just out to make a buck. They helped us out in a pinch and we signed up for their 5 yr (2x/yr $1,000) maintenance contract. When something went wrong with our 4 yr old system they told us the entire system needed to be replaced ($9,400). Got two second opinions and had repairs done (most parts under warranty) for under $1,800. When I asked to cancel the maintenance contract they said we had used $1,000 worth of services in 3 visits and would not refund a penny. STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY OR YOU WILL BE SORRY - Like I am.

We had an emergency on the 2nd. We had water running through our ceiling from our air conditioning. We called them and they came out within a half hour and fixed it. We signed up for a five year maintenance agreement with them. They do it every six months. The technician we had was just excellent.

I scheduled a final preventive maintenance contract service call with Desert Valley Aire and after checking the unit the last thing their technician Mike said to me before leaving is “good luck staying warm” in a menacing tone which caused me to be concerned that he may have sabotaged my 6 year old heat pump unit. About 1 month later my heat pump unit stopped heating and the cause was a copper wire which was touching a copper pipe suction line causing a short which made a hole in that line resulting in all of the freon leaking out of the unit. I phoned Desert Valley Aire and told their master service technician Rick about Mike’s comment and my heat pump unit not heating and he told me he’s sorry I took MIke’s comment out of context and that I couldn’t prove anything, their service manager Alex who works out of their Phoenix location also told me I’m sorry you took Mike’s comment that way during several different conversations. My experience is that Desert Valley Aire’s company philosophy is to blame their customers and not hold their technician accountable for poor customer service at the very least. I scheduled an appointment with Advantage Home Performance whose technicians are very professional, thorough and customer oriented and repaired the unit at a price $100 to $150 lower than Alex admitted his company would have charged for the repair and my heat pump unit has operated properly and efficiently since the repair.

Turns out it was a normal defrosting process of the unit (like I said, this is my first experience with with an HVAC unit). He duplicated the sound and explained what was going on as a protective feature of the unit. He continued to check the unit with all of his gages, caught where two lines were touching and fixed that so a leak did not ensue in the future, and also looked at the handler. He was very thorough. Will definitely use their services in the future and will recommend to friends and neighbors.

Everyone I speak with is polite and friendly, and it starts with the schedulers. From there, Cory was professional and non-aggressive in explaining to us what work was needed on the unit. I was able to ask questions, he explained what was up and also showed me pics of the unit. He was right on time, fast, and friendly. It's a great company
