We hired Chem Crete in August 2014 to remove and re-apply the concrete coating that had lasted 16 years on our patio. The work was done but they had to come back out twice to deal with the many drip marks and missed spots. After a year the coating began to de-laminate in 3 places. The owner came out and after much arguing agreed to honor the warranty and repair the spots but claimed it was from the concrete underneath decaying. This is not true. It appears they either did not prepare the surface correctly or they screwed up the sealing. Now there are 8 more spots that are de-laminating. This time he came out and said he would do nothing even though it is still under warranty. We have now filed a complaint with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors.
I have used many contractors for work on my house and I have never had one like Bob Comitz. His first reaction is to blame the customer and becomes defensive immediately. I would highly recommend that you not use this company.

Our old cool deck was faded and flaking in high traffic areas around the pool. The portion around the pool was 15 years old and in pretty sad shape. We also had extended our back porch and wanted to cool deck the existing concrete pad to match the rest of the pool area.
I received multiple bids for the project and Bob submitted a very competitive bid. His crew were fast, organized and completed the job ahead of schedule. The decking looks great!!! We are very pleased with the results and would recommend Chem Crete LLC to our neighbors.

The results were good and the price was fair. After a year, we had a small delamination that he repaired at no cost. Very satisfied.

Bob recently did a job for us of applying new acrylic texture to our enclosed patio, some over an existing KoolDeck, some over raw concrete which had been used to fill a large hole from the removal of a built-in spa. His bid was competitive, but more importantly he was reputable. Of the contractors I contacted, 1 was substantially higher priced, 1 wouldn't have been able to fit me in for at least 2 months, and another wanted half the estimate 1 week before he would even come on-site (which set off some alarm bells for me). Bob's quote came in as very competitive and he was able to work us in for 3 weeks out. We were told the job would take 2-3 days (depending on the weather and temperature).
Bob then called early the week before we were supposed to have the work done and asked if we'd like to move up the work a few days (which we were very happy for). He came out on a Thursday, prepped the surface, applied the first coat of material, and cleaned up the area. He then came back on Friday to see if it was ready to work on and determined he would have to finish up on Saturday. When he came on Saturday he finished applying the texture and color. The new coating is a very close match to the rest of our pool deck (which the only surface was not) and he did an amazing job of making the center square unnoticeable.
We're extremely happy with Chem Crete's work, and if we ever need something like this done again I would call Bob in a heartbeat.

Bob and his staff were very professional and efficient. Because of weather concerns, work was delayed on a few days, but Bob was very good about keeping in touch to let me know when the work could be completed. I obtained 3 estimates for the work and Chem Crete was the most reasonable price.

We got three bids for the job, and selected the second lowest bid because we were impressed with the company presentation. They helped us pick a color that closely matched the finish on the adjacent sidewalk and patio. The job was finished in two days.

Our Cool Deck started to show some areas of deterioration, a different company had patched it in 2009 but that did not hold up as well as we had thought. We found Bob's company on a referral list for certified installers issued by Preferred Deck Systems, a local manufacturer of acrylic deck products. Bob came around, enquired what we wanted to get done, shared color and texture samples with us and provided us with a detailed quote for redoing our cool deck. His approach was to blast the surface with high pressure to remove any loose parts, then put down an acrylic scratch coat, get a lace structure in place and spray the new surface in the desired color. Bob was very clear about things he can do and work that he would rather have others do like caulking inside the pool area.
The work ultimately was done in one day, the two person crew worked diligently and cleaned up well after they had finished. The only thing I would do differently next time is to remove all the in-step light fixture covers. Bob's team only taped them off.

Bob Comitz responded to my initial call quickly, and made an appointment to see the job. He bid the job on the basis of being able to power wash off the loose areas of the Kool Deck. When he actually started the job, the extent of damage was such that he had to grind the deck down instead of power wash. Thus the original estimate had to be adjusted up. They did the job on the schedule they promised and delivered a wonderful looking product. I'm delighted. Bob's a pleasure to work with and I would recommend him highly.

Bob, the owner, was easy to communicate with, and a very friendly individual who was a pleasure to deal with. Their workmanship is top notch, and the job looks beautiful. There were a couple of areas where their first try at the texture didn't quite match, but they were quite willing to do some extra work on those areas to make it consistent. The job was finished in a couple of days, just as Bob said it would be. They are one of the few contractors in my experience who actually came when they said they would and worked the job until it was done. In my mind a rating of ?A? means not only that they did excellent work on the project they'd contracted for, but that the company has left the job site in the condition that they found it. Chem Crete tried their best to keep from making any mess, but better yet, in the two areas where minor overspray occurred, they were very anxious to fix the problem. I would gladly use them again anytime I need to have this type of work done.
