At first is was fairly easy to get the estimate. The guy came right out and measured both fences and gave us a price. He also told us and my neighbor that he would guarantee a 10 year warranty as well. That was awesome since no one else would provide even a year. He told us that a galvanized fence would last us forever or at least 10 years which was exactly what we wanted to hear as well as our neighbor since we both have replaced our fences well before that time.
Once we decided to use Capital Fencing we were told that the new fencing would be put in within a couple of weeks since they had to be made. This was in June when we signed on with them, the actual job did not get finished until August. We kept getting delays and excuses as to why it wasn't getting done.
Once the fencing was replaced our gate latch never worked appropriately. We thought that it was just because it was new and needed to be used more to "break it in."
Five months passed and by this time the latch was impossible to open, we literally had to take a hammer to knock it open. I called several times and leaving many messages with the guy who sold us the fence but he would never return my calls, nor would the main office.
After much disgust and no follow ups on my calls, I reported them to the BBB and gave a scathing review there as well. Once that was sent to them I immediately got a phone call telling me that they would be out within the week to repair my gate and take care of the rust that was now present on my new fence.
After about a week, they did show up at my door (well the job manager did) and she told me that once they were finished with the new latch they would come and tell me so that I could inspect it and ask any questions. I waited until I saw that they were finished thinking that I would get a knock on my door...NOPE, I saw the guy who sold us the fence and the guy who welded a new latch jump into a car that was waiting down the street. I immediately called the lady and asked why they didn't ask me to come out, and I was given a very lame excuse. I also told her that the paint that they used to fix the rust wasn't anywhere close to matching the color of my fence. She told me that as soon as it was warmer they would be out to repaint the entire fence with a Rustoleum Paint. That was in January and this is now mid March and our temps have been well into the 80s and much warmer than in January and STILL no one has called to schedule a time to repaint. I have completely given up on these guys and will just cut my losses and never use these people again and I hope that my reviews will keep someone else from having the same experience as we have. And by-the-way, we STILL do not have in writing, (after both my neighbor and I) requested one. I guess that is not going to happen either!

Don't WALK away from this company ... instead RUN from this company! We contacted them when considering installation of a back yard fence. After initial conversations we decided to move forward in working with them. The company has a policy of 1/2 down deposit (we paid $2500.00) which we paid to begin the planning process. The first step was to submit a proposal for the work to our HOA. Part of our payment ($495) was for them to handle the paperwork required by the HOA submission process. The Capitol Fence salesman couldn't find a plot plan for our property, so WE provided it. We also identified on the plot plan where the proposed fencing would to go. Time for both of these efforts was to have been covered by the $495.00. The only thing the company did was forward to the HOA, via email, everything we submitted.to them. . . and they even erred with that. To get our plans to the HOA they simply scanned the documents we provided, but the scan was so poor that the HOA committee couldn't read it, saying everything had to be resubmitted. That delayed things by one week. At that point we met with the Capitol Fence salesman at our home to identify options for the location of the fencing. We were still waiting for HOA approval. When HOA identified that we couldn't have the fence installed where we were hoping, we decided we couldn't move forward. The company then told us they had a policy that they were going to charge us $1,500.00 for canceling the plans. We NEVER even started installation, as it wasn't approved. Capitol Fence said that they had to charge us a fee because they had already started manufacturing parts of the fence and wouldn't be able to use the pieces anywhere else. We don't know why the company would begin with this project we didn't have HOA approval and hadn't even identified where a fence would go. Unfortunately, we were now stuck. We agreed, therefore, to have them install a very small gate in an attempt to make use of some of the large deposit we had given. They said they'd install the gate (a small 3 foot gate) for $1,000.00. That inordinately overpriced, but again, we were STUCK as they had our deposit. From that point on, this company was completely unprofessional. They were 4 days late in getting the gate installed, with every day starting with them saying they'd get the work done that day. We were house-bound waiting for them. We made numerous calls during these four days just to get status of the installation. They said that the installers would be there at an identified time, and then didn't show up. We had to delay a trip just to wait for the installation. In fairness, once the gate was installed, it looks good and is of high quality. We formally complained (via phone) about the entire transaction, asking that the company at least return the $495.00 charge for the HOA submission since they did NONE of this work. We agreed to pay the price for the gate (even though they were charging far more than it was worth) and its installation. We believed that this extra cost would compensate for the time the salesman had come to our home to look at the property. They didn't return our phone calls. We then made formal written complaint with the owner, asking that Capitol Fence they return the $495.00 they charged for the HOA submission, since WE did all the work. After two weeks the salesman contacted us, saying they received the letter of complaint and would look into it. That was now over a month ago and we've heard nothing. We left two voice messages asking about status of the complaint and they've not responded. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.!! There are many good fencing contractors in the Phoenix area. Use someone else!
