Overall, a surprisingly great experience. I'll be the first one to admit I'm a cynic, and I figured that I'd get multiple bids and they'd be the most expensive and the least willing to work with me. I did go out and get multiple bids, and narrowed it down to two companies quickly. Both them and Classy Closets were in the same general ballpark in terms of cost and what they offered. Each offered very different designs, and candidly I liked both. My in-laws have used Classy Closets, and had great experiences with them, and I really liked their designer.
But what sold me on California Closets was their 3-D CAD software. We had a pretty good idea of what we wanted, but once Diane drew it up for us and we could see what it would actually look like, several problems became apparently VERY quickly. We didn't get this service with Classy Closets, and it really made a huge difference. I think we would have spent a ton of money and been disappointed had we not been able to see the working model. So this, combined with Diane's ideas (the designer) really sold us.
I candidly had heard horror stories about how much closets could cost, so I had mentally budgeted $20,000 for this. It wasn't a huge closet, but what we wanted wasn't low end and I just figured it would break the bank. I was pleasantly surprised that the actual cost came in at 60% of it.
I was also super impressed with the installers. They showed up on time, were incredibly pleasant, and they made several no-cost suggestions that really improved the final look of the closet. It took them 2 days to do their work, they cleaned up afterwards, and they tolerated my little girls (and me!) occasionally watching them and asking questions. Again, I was really pleasantly surprised. They had been doing this for years, and it showed.
So overall, a huge positive experience. It costed less than i expected (although I had braced myself for a truly horrific number). The designer had great ideas. And the installation went very smoothly. Only one small issue which was minor and corrected immediately and with no charge or hassle. Very pleasant surprise!

THEY CAME OUT, MEASURED, WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL, OFFERED A GREAT PRODUCT, and WERE VERY TIMELY and ACCURATE ON THEIR INSTALLATION TIME. BEAUTIFUL WORKMANSHIP!
