ceramic tile

 + 0 moreNo problems with the hard wood floors. A DISASTER ON THE TILE INSTALLATION. NOT HAPPY. Baker Brothers collected all the money up front, before any work was performed. We were prepared to pay half on signing and half at termination of the work. But my American Express Card was debited the friday before the job started or any materials were on site. If during my carer I ever asked my boss to pay me first, I would have been fire in short order. The fact was,my employer allays retained two weeks of my pay. I work first, got payed later. Baker Brothers get paid first,do a lousy job later. How is that for good business ???? *********************************************************************************************************************** MARCH 21, 2012 Baker Brothers have send the same installers to re do the entire tile floors, they have removed all the tile that was installed by them and re-installed new tile. The job is it a bit better than before, however, we are left with a second house clean up once more. No compensation for the clean up second time around.
Description of Work: We had our floors done with hard wood flooring, the work was very good, the three installers (workers) we have no complaints, the product looks excellent,and we are happy with the work they have done with the hard wood. However, we are not pleased with the ceramic tiles in the bathrooms. First: Before any installation was performs, I asked for a 1/32 separation on the tiles. Approximately the thickness of a penny. The installer refused, stating that was not a Bakers Brothers company policy, But, I said, I am the customer and that is what we want. After discussing the problem we settle for 1/8th (2 pennys) of separation. Second: The work should have been done in one day, but ,they left at 3PM, They had to pick their children from school. Leaving us without the facility for an extra day, plus a day for drying up. Third: The separation the level and the finishing at the edges, are not all equal, some are 1/4 some are more some are less,the tiles corners are not square . Attention to detail was not applied, the job was rushed, and lousy workmanship. Fourth: The tile was order from Spain, as you can expect, was not cheap tile. A total waste of a good product, a lousy job, lousy installers. NOT HAPPY AT ALL.

 + 2 moreThe Baker Brothers probably retired after handling my sale being that it cost me so much money. This was the first time I tried them and except for the little trouble I had with the tile man I had an overall great experience.
Description of Work: They put down hardwood flooring in the living and dining room which measured 180 square feet and 150 square feet respectively. They put carpeting in the stairway and tiled the 210 square foot entry way.

hardwood floor
 + -1 moreTHEY WERE ON SCHEDULE WITH DELIVERY AND INSTALL. BOTH ROOMS WERE FINISHED IN ONE DAY. THE CREW DID A GREAT JOB INSTALLING THE FLOORING AND ALSO A GREAT JOB CLEANING UP. THEY TOOK GOOD CARE TO ENSURE EVERYTHING WAS DONE TO OUR SPECIFICATIONS.
Description of Work: THEY REMOVED CARPET IN TWO ROOMS, (FAMILY ROOM AND OFFICE) AND INSTALLED LAMINATE WOOD FLOORING IN EACH ROOM.
