Marble and Granite Service
The owner of the company came out to measure, and I was surprised at
the cost considering we already had the granite, but decided it was
worth the cost if someone was going to do a great job. A month later
when they came out to install, I was severely disappointed at the number
of measuring errors and quality issues we were faced with. Due to
mis-measurement, the laundry sink counter portion wasn't cut large
enough to cover the existing cabinet and therefore had to be placed
c***-eyed on top of the laundry cabinet - to this day it is still
unleveled, crooked, and without any overhang on one side and excessive
calking on the other. The backsplash on the bathroom piece had to be
entirely recut onsite also due to mismeasurement, and during the install
our brand new Kholer plumbing sink fixtures were dragged across the
ground leaving large gouges and scrapes on the faucet head.
Additionally, the installer left several gouges in the surrounding wood
molding and scrapes on the walls, and indicated that it was not his
responsibility to fix. I could not reach the owner by phone that day
and the installer didn't speak good english and therefore it was
impossible to resolve anything during the install. In the days
following, I made calls and sent a note detailing our issues and asking
for them to be addressed by the owner, but never received a response.
At this point, the most upsetting things are those that cannot be
corrected without significant granite replacement cost: 1) The granite
edge: I had asked them to match the beautiful bullnose edging on my
kitchen countertop which during the bid he said he could do - but
instead they arrived with a standard bullnose edge on all pieces, 2) the
laundry counter was cut so small there was no way to fix it short of
buying a whole new piece of granite to start with. As for the fixable
issues, we have paid other contractors at this point to fix the molding
and wall repairs, but are still stuck with the above granite issues and
scratches on our new faucet head. We are not happy.
