I purchased a new build home within a community that hired R&K Building Supplies as a contractor to put in our doors. We moved into our home in September 2021. From day 1 of us walking into our home we noticed the front door was not closing correctly. It was hitting the doorframe due to the door itself not being leveled. The weather stripping was also messed up all around the door. The door leading into our pantry was also unable to close at all. We immediately let our builders know and they said they would let us know within a few days when it could be fixed. Weeks pass and my builder stated they could not get anyone from R&K to call them back. A month goes by and a rain storm passed through. We discovered the garage service door's weather stripping was bad and water leaked into our garage. The front door became so unleveled as time went on that myself and my husband would have to slam against the door with our full body weight to get it to close. I want to say around December we finally got word back from our builder who said they would not be able to fix the door until the end of September 2022! OVER A YEAR LATER! We asked multiple times for a sooner date but they kept saying they were booked and there was no available slots. The issue with the front door became unbearable as it was damaging the door and the doorframe more and more. I was expecting a baby in March and the issue became one of safety. I couldn't continue to shove myself into the door to get it to close anymore. I made one finally attempt to try and find a sooner date but the answer was no and I was to keep the September 2022 date. The week I was due I made the decision out of safety for myself and my newborn to have the door fixed myself. I had my dad come and replace 3 screws to get the door somewhat leveled. This helped a lot and I felt better knowing my door could close behind me when I needed it to. This last week my appointment with R&K finally came. The gentleman that showed up already seemed irritated. We let him know about the 3 doors and immediately he started questioning us about the front door. "Its closing now - why would I need to adjust it further? Why are those screws different? Did you guys touch it?" We were honest and let him know that we had waited over a year for them to come to our home and back in Spring we couldn't wait any more and needed the door leveled just a little bit. "Oh that voids your warranty - i'm not touching that door" he said. My husband: "We waited over a year for you guys and we needed it to close for our safety! We just had a baby - how did you expect us to not have our front door close?" R&K Tech:"Doesn't matter - once someone else touches this door we can't help you sorry" My husband: "So there is nothing on it you can fix? Not the screws or the weather stripping?" R&K Tech: "Nothing - sorry" At this point we were so shocked and upset we just asked him to leave. There was no empathy, no emotion, no nothing. They truly expected us to continue to live with a non-closing front door with a new mother and newborn inside. Shameful and unprofessional. I understand warranties - but I also understand patience and I waited over a year with patience and understanding. There was no human element to the visit. Truly disappointed.

"Hi [Member Name Removed], I have contacted you directly regarding the warranty/service issue with the doors where we were a subcontractor for your builder. Please check your messages on Yelp and you'll find contact information for our managers there. This profile is for our Insulation Division, which is unrelated."

This company is lie after lie after lie and poor workmanship after poor workmanship. Lets start with the lies, Tim Morgan, my sales rep, informed me that they were a direct Therma-tru dealer. This is not correct, according to Therma-tru, they only sell their doors direct to OrePac Building Products and Huttig Building Supplies. Turns out R&K buys from these two sources and NOT direct from Therma-tru. I could go on and on about more lies, but I blame myself for not vetting this company properly. Any one who is thinking about hiring this company should ask yourself one question first, why give this company 15, 20+ points for just being a middle man. Why not go direct to OrePac or Huttig and save some money. Most disappointing however is the poor and down right bad workmanship. In construction, obviously, mistakes can happen. However, a true test of a companies character is their desire to try and make the customer happy. R&K has not such desire. I have French doors not properly installed, glass that has waves in it, a pair of barn doors with visually crooked hardware (see attached photo). During installation R&K chipped my travertine tile and their fix was to just throw some grout in it. R&K's response was "its good enough", really. Their service techs were asked to leave due to the fact that they either didn't care or more likely they don't have the proper skills or training to accomplish the job professionally. When my concerns and issues were bought to the attention of the owner, Chad Coons, he completely dismissed me. There are still many issues which need to be corrected, however, it looks like I'm on my own. I believe this because in Mr. Coons' own words "daylight through a door is completely normal". R&K's standards are the lowest, daylight should not be present and hardware should not be installed crooked.

I was extremely pleased with this company. Tim and Josh were remarkably patient and helpful in helping me find the right windows for my home and budget. The installation went very smoothly .Aaron and his crew were prompt and seemed to work very well together. The windows look great. I would definitely recommend R&K .

Julann at R&K worked with us to find a replacement for our double front doors.  R&K offered solutions that other contractors did not.  They removed the old doors and installed the new wood doors.  They filled the gaps in the door frame that were left when the builder installed the original doors.  We are very pleased with the work R&K has done and will use them again.

They installed 10 doors, 4 or which were solid core. They were able to get all the doors in and out within four hours. The only concern was that there was a miscommunication about who was supposed to take the old doors away, but they were able to get everything resolved. Everyone was really friendly, and we're very happy with the work.

A 3-man crew showed up bright and early each day of our 3-day window installation and got right to work. They communicated with us throughout the day about what the procedures were and asked several times if we had any questions. They were friendly and courteous and knew what they were doing. They cleaned up each day and left minimal mess (dust) when the job was complete. I would work with this company again and I would refer them to other people.

We contacted R&K Building Supplies after a friend used them. Cody was our sales contact. He was helpful and always easy to get a hold of to answer questions, etc. He also worked with us to make sure the front facing windows met HOA guidelines. When the head of the installation team came out to measure, he were on time and provided a wonderful idea for our sliding door that was outdated and provided narrow entry from the patio. The installation crew arrived on time, worked hard, made sure to protect what they could from the dust and cleaned up at the end of each day. They completed the installation, stucco repair and drywall patching well. They answered any questions we had and were sure to give us a quick overview on operation, cleaning, etc of our new windows and door. Most important, they were mindful that they were entering someone's home and always made sure to make the process as painless as possible for our family. We have loved our new windows and door and will use them again in the future.

The process is decent. I researched online beforehand. The quote from R & K is inline with government insulation guideline. Ask any questions you have. R & K will tell you what they do and donot do. I would recommend them for attic insulation. I am waiting for the summer months to see how much difference the added insulation can make.

THEY WERE THE MOST COMPETITIVE OUT OF FOUR BIDS. WHEN THE WINDOWS WERE DELIVERED, TWO OF THE WINDOW PANES WERE NOT EVEN. CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS AMAZING. THEY ORDERED NEW WINDOWS AND HAD THEM INSTALLED. WE ARE VERY HAPPY WITH THE QUALITY AND THE PRICE OF THE WINDOWS.
