HomeLife Protection LLC is a home warranty company that costed me $400 membership for this year. I decided to become a member back in March of 2012. Luckily I had not required their services until last week. I received a very high water bill which prompted me to do a leakage search around my home. I discovered that both my toilets had a silent leak, I quickly replaced the fill valve and flapper and my toilets still leaked. I wasn't too worried because I felt safe having a home warranty program to back me up. I called them on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, and they didn't get back to me at all, I had to call them back, and a man named Doug was immensely rude to me, he spoke very highly of his plumbing contractors in my area, even when finding out that their service call ticket was never answered. Doug then asked me call his contractor to set up an appointment, which in past experience, it's the contractor that is supposed to call you to set up an appointment. I then called the contractor and my luck was also very rude to me. Never an apology for not contacting me sooner, the number that was given to me by Doug was a cell phone to a service person, not really a company office, which made me feel that this plumbing company was not a reputable plumbing company. I decided to call HomeLife and my luck received the same rude guy name Doug, I then asked to speak to a manager and got a customer relations person named Melissa, finally she got a contractor to call me and a unexperienced plumber was sent to my house. I advised the young man that the parts he was about to replace were already changed by me and that it had to be the flush valve that needs replacement. He assured me that the parts he was about to change were high quality and that he felt would fix the problem. The parts were from Home Depot at a cost of $7.98 + tax. The plumber later called HomeLife and accused me of not letting him leave my house, which was not the case at all, I was appalled by the comment. This information was relayed to me by again the rude guy named Doug. Once I called again to HomeLife was transferred to then again so called manager Melissa who again mentioned she was only a customer relations person, she assured me that she would call me back because she needed to hear the contractors side of the story; to this day I have not received any phone calls from HomeLife Warranty Protection and still have two leaking toilets that I'm going to end up fixing myself. I feel very lucky that this wasn't a real emergency and I feel totally dumb for subscribing to their elite plan, because I'm 100% certain that this company would never replace a home appliance, a/c unit, or a simple a microwave without arguing that the homeowners are at fault for not doing preventative maintenance to their appliances. I am certain this is a bad company doing rotten business by just taking people's money. I am working on an investigation because I would like to get to their whole information. It can't be possible that their is only 2 workers when calling the 1-888 number. All you get is Doug and Melissa if that's their real name. Wish me luck :):) I hope you alert all of America to stay away from HomeLife Warranty LLC, main office located in Arizona.
Description of Work: Provided horrible customer service. I feel this company would never honor their commitment as they say in their website.
