HOME DEPOT

Two workers showed up on time and proceeded to drain and remove the old heater. During the install an overflow pipe was re-routed and the pipe was kinked. It does not appear to be a problem other than looking bad. They then installed, filled and tested the new heater. I was very pleased with my experience at the Home Depot store where the manager helped me pick out the water heater I needed and arranged for the installation. I liked that hey followed up with a quality control survey of the contractors work.

Contractors didn't show up on time or at all. One electrician cut the power to half of my house and I went without it for 3 weeks, until my complaining finally got a different electrician to come find the problem after he poked holes all over my house trying to find the wires. I took off time for work to meet the contractors who didn't show up. I called my design coordinator at Home Depot, who said, "what do you want me to do about it?" I finally started just calling Custom Creations directly. After awhile, getting no where with the secretary there, I asked for her boss. He wasn't in. I asked for his boss. He wasn't in either. Finally people came and finished it. I was leaving town the last day they were there. The who did the drywall finish asked if he could wash his brushes outside. I agreed. He left. I left town. I came home to white stuff all over my grass and up my block wall fence. I found the source. Drywall plaster stuff in the middle of my brand new sod I had installed. Needless to say, it killed my sod. I call to complain to Home Depot. Told not to do anything. The next crew comes into hook up my sink, dish washer etc. The installer forgot to hook up a hose and 5 minutes after he left, my brand new kitchen was flooded. I did get a settlement which I was happy about but would have rather not have had to have it.

A NIGHTMARE. I STARTED THE PROCESS IN MAY, AND THEY ARE STILL NOT DONE. KITCHEN HAS BEEN RIPPED OUT SINCE THE FIRST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER-PROJECT HAS BEEN PAID FOR IN FULL SINCE THE LAST WEEK OF JULY (TOMORROW IS THANKSGIVING, AND STILL NO KITCHEN.) CABINETS DELIVERED, COMPLETELY FILLING MY GARAGE, 9/8. HD COULD NOT GET THEIR CONTRACTOR TO RETURN CALLS. I CALLED CONTRACTOR DIRECTLY TRYING TO GET THEM TO SCHEDULE INSTALL. CONTRACTOR DID NOT RETURN MY CALLS, LEFT ME ON HOLD INDEFINITELY, AND FINALLY SENT ONE YOUNG MAN TO MY HOUSE TO DO THE INSTALL ON HALLOWEEN. HE WORKED FROM EARLY MORNING UNTIL 9PM, AND LEFT WITH THE JOB UNDONE. HE FOUND THAT MATERIALS DELIVERED WERE WRONG SIZE AND DAMAGED, EVEN THOUGH A REP HAD UNPACKED AND EXAMINED STUFF AFTER THEY WERE SHIPPED. I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE RIGHT MATERIALS TO BE SHIPPED-ETA 12/8. THE HOME DEPOT DESIGNER I WORKED WITH QUIT IN SEPTEMBER BECAUSE OF THE FRUSTRATION OF PEOPLE NOT FOLLOWING THROUGH WITH HER CUSTOMERS.

WE HIRED HOME DEPOT TO DO OUR KITCHEN REMODEL. I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE PRODUCTS THEY OFFERED, BUT NOT IMPRESSED WITH THE COMPANY THAT WAS HIRED TO DO THE DEMO, AND INSTALLATION. THEY HAVE SERIOUS COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS AND DON'T RETURN PHONE CALLS. LIKE I SAID, I DIDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE PRODUCTS, JUST A PROBLEM WITH THE CONTRACTORS. WORK WENT UNFINISHED, AND WE HAD TO HIRE OUTSIDE CONTRACTORS TO FINISH THE JOB. THEY'RE ALSO VERY EXPENSIVE ON LABOR AND INSTALLATION COSTS. HOPE HOME DEPOT CHOOSES A DIFFERENT COMPANY IN THE FUTURE, FOR THEIR SAKE.
