On this occasion, I called for a routine service. The scheduler pointed out that I could get a lower cost inspection if I was an SRP customer, which ended up saving me a good portion of the bill (reducing it to $29.95).
The Evans technician arrived on schedule, and was polite, friendly, and helpful. He inspected the system in the attic, the exterior AC unit, and the vent system. When the service was finished, he asked tactfully about when the filter had been changed last (my bad - it was a few months overdue) but the system was otherwise in decent shape.
I have had other issues with the system in the past, but while Evans technicians have done a great job explaining my options and the probable costs (I'm going to want to shift to a two-stage system when this one fails), they have also consistently sought other, less expensive options to avoid replacing the unit until absolutely necessary. I appreciate the fact that Evans' advice has reflected my best interests rather than their interests in making the sale.
Evans has switched to an electronic system for most payment and signatures, done through an app on the technician's phone. Trying to sign my name on a phone with the tip of my finger probably did not produce a great example of my signature, but I can live with that. Evans will email you your receipt if you prefer. In spite of signing with my finger, the payment process was pretty efficient.
Evans has provided consistent, responsive service with integrity for many years, and I recommend them highly.

items that weren't in perfect condition, but did not suggest
replacement yet. I observed all steps, and found his work thorough and
careful. A personable young man who took steps to minimize his impact
on the tenants while completing the work. I have had several other
companies perform this type of check in the past, and have had mixed
results. I have had several recommendations made that did not seem reasonable.
