Excellent experience. Do yourself a favor and call Scot Morgan first as I wish I had. Initially. I had 4 well known and highly rated companies come out for quotes. Prices ranged from $15k - $20k which I felt was high. I then called Scot and was very impressed with his honesty and know all. Long story short, he saved me thousands on the same units. Communication was excellent, install team was great and all around a great experience.

Our heat pump died in the middle of July and American Cooling and Heating was able to fit us in for a next day install of a new unit. Installers were on time and veterans in their trade. Excellent price and service. Highly recommended.

Had not used American Cooling in the past but when the A/C went out on a condo I rent out, the HVAC company I had used in the past were unable to perform the services due to the specialized nature of the air handler. American Cooling immediately went out and assessed the situation and were able to secure a crane and all the necessary components for a new system and install the next morning, They did this in 108 degree heat. I am extremely pleased and would highly recommend this company.

Scot got one of his guys out to troubleshoot the unit and the fan was out. He put another fan in to get it running and a few days later another couple guys came out to install a new Trane. John and Ben showed up early Friday morning and removed the outdoor unit and the air handler in the attic and installed all the new stuff and did an outstanding job in about 4.5 hours. It's a pretty big job and they are pretty big guys who had to shove a big air handler up into the attic and get the outdoor unit replaced in the side yard. Great workers. I had a long talk with Scot a year ago and talked to these guys some today when they were here and these guys do lots of little things that make a difference like putting a switch in the attic unit so if the drain line clogs and water backs up it will shut the unit down before you have water coming thru the ceiling. They vacuum out the Freon line to the point that it's .000 microns or some ridiculously small amount of crap left in the line before they recharge it. I'm probably way off on that number but it's things like that that they said Scot is anal about that make the difference. Sorry Scot, it's a good kind of anal =) I highly recommend this company. You can always get a lower price but just like the pools I build, you get what you pay for and in AZ going with the low bidder on your AC you could be signing your own death warrant if you're not in good health. People die out here, that's why SRP doesn't turn off your power in the summer. Our old unit did just like I always knew could happen. It was 9:30 at night when I saw we were at 87 degrees before I knew something was wrong =O Call these guys when you need a new unit, get it done right.

It was seemless from our first call to Arizona Cooling & Heating! Scot Moore stood by his telephone quote even though they had to replace a pad that was not included initially. The installers were so professional and totally knew what they were doing. We got 3 bids but we felt the most confident with Az Cooling and Heating. We got the best product on the market (Trane) for such a fair price. The other 2 bids wanted to cut a hole in our ceiling and then do a patch job (found out others like to do that because it is not as much work). Scot and his people know how to do things right. So if you want a contractor you can trust to do quality work with great integrity and with a very fair price, these are the people to call! We feel fortunate we found them. I have friends who have a/c horror stories. A/C's are expensive so use the best. They serve the whole valley.

I'd used American Cooling and Heating once before for a tune-up on my AC. That cost me $200.
Barely two and a half months later, I returned home from a trip, and the next morning I noticed the condenser wasn't working. So I called the company, and to their credit, they had someone at the house around 9 a.m. I appreciated their early arrival.
My wife called me at work and passed the phone to Al, the service tech. He quoted me $530 to replace a contactor. That seemed crazy high to me. So I asked the cost to replace the whole condenser unit. He said $2,800, which also seemed crazy high. I agreed to have the contactor replaced. What can I say? It was 110 degrees, and I'd be working till late. I placed some trust in the guy.
To American Cooling and Heating's credit, they got the AC up and running fast after two hours work. And I've read other reviews of folks who paid similar prices to get their units running.
Unfortunately for me, I did some research after the fact. Al told me the cost to replace the contactor was $180, though from talking to friends and other providers, the part itself cost at the most $50. Al said the price to replace the capacitor was $172, though again, the price was very high in light of the low cost of the part, which takes minimal time to install.
There was still around $200 remaining balance on the bill. Al explained that charge was for maintenance of the unit. Again, the company had performed tune-up maintenance on the unit just two and half months earlier. And keep in mind, on this final trip to the house where he said he performed a second tune-up, he never once set foot inside the house.
In the time since, I've learned that although either a contactor or a capacitor may fail and cause your condenser unit to quit working, it's rare that they go out simultaneously. It also took several phone calls to American Cooling and Heating for Al to explain his handwritten invoice to me.
The funny thing is that he may have finally responded because he wrote down the wrong date for the expiration of my credit card. At the time, I was still giving him benefit of the doubt, so I gave him the correct date. When I explained my concerns to Al, he said he would pay a courtesy visit to my home in November to perform maintenance on the unit. I'll see if he arrives.
I would have been more impressed had he agreed to adjust the bill to a more reasonable level.
Again, some folks may praise an AC company for arriving in quick time to save them on a hot day. But let's face it: Many AC companies gouge their customers during heat waves. I can attest to that. And if that doesn't leave a sour taste in your mouth, should you leave any less violated if a mechanic in a desolate stretch of highway charges you $500 for a new radiator? Same principle.
As it is now, I've spent a total of $740 with this company for maintenance and a minor repair. I'm also stuck knowing I got ripped off and that any problem I had may have come from someone sabotaging the unit on that first trip.
I wanted to find a provider I could use year after year for maintenance and eventually a new system. But American Cooling and Heating won't get anymore of my business or money. I can't trust them.
Also, notice when you call, that the estimate they give you will depend on your home's location. Keep in mind, too, that techs for larger companies are paid on commission, so it's in their best interest to charge you high and leave quickly.
If anyone at American Cooling and Heating would agree to make things right with me, I'd share that news here.

Air conditioning quit working on a Saturday evening after a sand and lightning storm. We called on Sunday morning and the technician came out within an hour to diagnose. He determined that the electrical storm must have caused the problem since 4 major parts were shorted all at once and showed visible burn residue. An estimate was given that night, the repairs seemed expensive, the technician did not pressure me, but understood that in 100+ temperature we needed a speedy repair. He recommended we check with our insurance company, but could not wait to be reimbursed by them - payment was needed at time of repair. True to his word, he called to follow up Monday morning, and was able to come back with the parts by Monday afternoon. 3 of the parts were for the furnace that is located in our attic, and it was another 100+ degree day. He arrived early and worked very hard for several hours without complaint. He was even kind enough to take pictures with my camera to help with the proof needed for the insurance company to reimburse me. I paid with credit card and there were problems with the approval caused by the bank/credit card company. The office staff at American was very understanding and worked with me and the credit card company to resolve. It took 5 extra days for the payment to clear because of a bank error. American was very supportive and understanding, even when my own patience ran thin. By Sunday afternoon it was 100 degrees inside my house, within 20 minutes of the completed repair and ever since, I have had a great appreciation for the luxury of air conditioning.

We called American late on Friday afternoon (August, 26th) to ask for help. They gave us a two hour window, of which they called in less than one hour to let us know they were on the way. Two technicians showed up. Within a few minutes they diagnosed the problem, told me how much it would cost and how long it would take to complete the work. As promised, they were done in less than 30 minutes and on their way. I was very pleased with their willingness to do the work on a Friday. They were very professional and courteous.

I would definitely use them again!

THE TECHNICIAN THAT PERFORMED THE CHECK WAS ON TIME AND PROFESSIONAL. HE PERFORMED A THOROUGH REVIEW OF OUR AIR CONDITIONER, MADE SLIGHT ADJUSTMENTS AND ADDED COOLANT TO ENSURE THE SYSTEM WAS PERFORMING ADEQUATELY. HE DISCUSSED OUR AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WITH US, EXPLAINING HIS WORK AND TOLD US THAT IT WAS IN GOOD WORKING ORDER AFTER HIS SERVICE. THE COMPANY SCHEDULED OUR SERVICE WITHIN THREE DAYS OF US CALLING.
