Affordable Home Repair

We had a terrible experience. The work was okay, but her communication was abysmal and insulting. It seems Kerry has lost all professionalism from where she was a few years ago, including when we used her about four years ago. This time it took months of calls, missed appointments, and confusion to even get her to our house. She assured us the fence would not facilitate termites, but then left it half-buried in dirt and directly connected to the house (which is a termite invitation). She never returned calls without four to eight phone calls first. Until, of course, we owed her money. Then she was both impatient and still rude.

Kerry only spent 9-10 contact hours in my home; therefore, she paid herself $122-133 an hour--not affordable. Given the time spent, I feel overcharged. I provided and paid for all the paint in addition to her fees. She did not complete the work contracted for, even thought she spent three days in my home (May 19-21), necessitating my hiring someone else. Numerous personal phone calls and pet problems at her home with a secondary business interrupted her work for me. She did not bring supplies with her and kept leaving for several hours at a time to fetch them. The screw she used did not match the others in front entry.
I like K. personally and wish her the best. Perhaps, she had an off week.

We were very pleased with the quality of her work. She took out the damaged drywall, replaced it with new drywall, texturized and painting. Even though it was a small job, it required that she come back 2 times (due to the time needed between tasks for it to dry). She was always timely and responsive. We will use her in the future.

She did an outstanding job, with the paint and the repairs. I wish we had asked her to this earlier! The paint looked very good, and we could not even tell where the dings in the wall had been repaired.
We had moved out of the home and put it on the market. She not only completed the work in a short time, but cheerfully worked around the schedule of potential home buyers too. We already knew how well she worked with wood, but were thoroughly impressed with her professionalism, yet again!

The entire experience was wonderful. Kerry is prompt, courteous, professional, articulate, and friendly. I can only wish all contractors were like her.

She is excellent with electrical work, drywall, texturing, paint preparing/painting, carpentry.

She does very good job with paint projects [preparing, painting], drywall, texturing walls, electric projects, carpentry --by using her handy[wo]man skills.

Kerry was pleasant, professional, and did a quality job for a reasonable
price. She needed a couple of days to get to us, but we're happy with
her work. We'd had a leak that went down from the 2nd story to the
garage, and when we called a plumber, he cut two chunks out of the
ceiling before seeing that the problem was a drip under a sink. After
letting everything dry out, we needed the mess cleaned up and repaired.
Kerry patched the holes, and then came back the next day to match the
'80's popcorn texturing. She says that people call her more often to
have that old style texture removed and updated, but hey, it's a garage,
so she did what made sense. We just sold this place, the buyer had
already moved in and the mortgage was on hold until the leak damage was
repaired, so it was important to do the job as smoothly as possible.
Now Kerry has two new customers and I'm glad to make a recommendation.

Kerry arrived to do the work on time, got to work right away, assessed what she could and could not do and then put plans in place for completion of the tasks.

For example, when she did our popcorn ceiling she first made, essentially, a plastic bag for the whole room. This is a very dusty job but we did not notice ANY dust on the floor below where she was working. After she was done I found NO dust or evidence she had spent a week removing the popcorn--she textured the ceiling perfectly and her paint job looks like it has aways been there--none of our furniture or books were impacted from being under the plastic and she removed all the trash. Its like the elves had come in the night and done the job!
