Overall the moving experience was bad. I had high hopes based on the initial meeting before the actual moving and delivery days.
The packing and loading took 3 days. The household goods were in storage for several months at the movers warehouse approximately 3 hours from the pickup address. The household goods were delivered to an address about 150 miles from the warehouse. Distance wise not a very complicated move. I have previously moved coast to coast several times and internationally twice, and I have had items in storage for 12 months. However, this move resulted in more missing/broken items than those other more complicated moves.
I will state that some special handling items came thru the move complete and in good condition. It was the everyday items, some collectibles, tools, and electronics that disappeared or were broken.
Moving is difficult to cope with both mentally and physically. A bad moving experience compounds this.
