My urethane foam flat roof started leaking into my
living room during a recent rainstorm. I called Rand F roofing after
looking up roof repair on the internet. As they seemed to have the
longest history of those listed, I subsequently looked them up on
Angie's List and saw great reviews. Floyd came out and evaluated the
problem and sent me a very detailed quote with photos describing the
problem and the required repair work. Floyd came out on the scheduled
day and pressure washed the roof and removed all the debris, the next
day, he and his crew came and removed and replaced the damaged and separated foam and re-coated the roof completely and was done by noon. Rand F Roofing issued a 2 year warranty for materials and workmanship. Subsequent monsoon rainstorms here in Arizona have tested the repair and it is water tight. Floyd and his crew did a great job and I will have him back to check my roof regularly.

We were very pleased with the responsiveness and the professionalism of the crew. They cleaned the roof, patched as necessary, and applied roofing materials. We selected Rand F Roofing after interviewing 5 roofers, since this would be a major expense. The company made our short list based on their A+ rating on Better Business Bureau, length of time in business (since 1995) and referral from the roofing material manufacturer. After our vendor evaluation process, Rand F got the job because:

• They presented the most sensible approach to the foam roofing process and our particular roof configuration.
• Floyd, the owner, would do the foaming himself.
• Rand F is a smaller, family-owned and operated business; we appreciated the personal involvement and interest of the owner.
• Floyd took time to explain the job in detail, discussed pros and cons of various techniques.
• Applying foam can be tricky and requires experience, mastery of technique and skill. Floyd is very experienced and personally did the foaming for our job.
• The various roofers we interviewed had different opinions about the best way to prep the job and apply the foam. One advocated pressure-washing, others warned that pressure-washing could introduce water through unseen cracks that would be trapped by the foaming process, causing problems down the road. Rand F recommended keeping roof dry by blowing all loose debris.

Completion time was estimated at 10 working days; actual working time required only 5 days over a 2-week period.
