Excellent. From Rachel in the office who is in charge of appointments and contacts to Bill the overseer and requisition of materials to Bob and his team, all were professional, polite, knowledgeable, and willing to explain anything along the way. The job took four days and we never saw anyone do anything except focus on the job at hand.

Last fall I had this company do a routine AC checkup. At that time, the technician did not screw on the Freon cables correctly. All R-22 Freon leaked out. I was told that I needed 21.3 lbs of Freon at $100 a pound plus repair on 2 schraders. I could not afford this, so I have been without AC for 8 weeks. I finally found a company that would allow me to purchase this Freon at a reduced price. I needed 18 lbs. of Freon not 21.3 and did not need any schrader replacement.

"We're sorry that you had A/C problems this summer. As for your statement of facts, we see the situation just a little bit differently. When you had us out to diagnose the operation issues your A/C system was having, we found it to be completely empty of refrigerant. We found the Schrader core leaking, not because the caps weren't on tight, but because the neoprene seal around the core itself had gotten old and failed causing the refrigerant to leak past that point. The cost of R-22 refrigerant (Freon) has skyrocketed in recent year and the technician had a conversation with you about the cost to recharge your system with refrigerant and also gave you another option for an alternative refrigerant that was not as costly. After the technician told our service manager about the conversation offering you the alternative refrigerant he called you and discussed the price of the two options. We were told by you that it was a lot of money, either way you decided and that you would call us back with your decision. So unfortunately, we don't feel that the blame for your going 8 weeks without air conditioning should fall on our shoulders. Knowing that our furnace/air conditioning unit was original to our 23 year old home, we received an estimate for a replacement a year ago. Trying to forestall the expense as long as possible, we had to bite the bullet and schedule the replacement when cracks were found in the heat exchanger. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the price that was quoted the previous year was still applicable. Before the installation, a crew member came to the house to review the work. The installers arrived on time and worked continuously until the job was complete. The unit needed to be lifted a bit higher than the old one and the crew initially did that by placing redwood ties underneath. We were a bit concerned with future rotting of the wood and they accommodated us by replacing the wood with concrete blocks. The following week another crew member did some kind of readings and completed the paperwork so we could receive an APS rebate. We had a bit of a hiccup resulting from the movement of an electrical outlet necessitated by the need for a new return, but that issue was resolved to our satisfaction. All in all we were very satisfied with all of the employees we encountered at Chino and continue to use the company to maintain our system.

Initial call Matthew discussed pros/cons of repair us. New furnace given that furnace very old. Did repair same day. Rick out to discuss new furnace options with (financing avail able thru their). Furnace worked for approx. 1 mo died.

I agreed to a contract, and price, based upon one day of service and being provided a "crew" to perform the work in one day. As a matter of fact, I did not request one days' service; it was offered by the contractor; I took his word on it and made plans accordingly. I realize now that was just a ploy to make the sale. Without being informed in advance, nor during the first days' work, they sent only one employee who took two days to perform the work, thus greatly interfering with my own work/travel schedule.
As to the success of the repairs they said I needed, I'd rate that a 6 out of 10.
As to the price: when the salesman made his inspection he said it would be about $1,000. I said: "OK". Then he added: "I see no way it could cost more than $1500." I said: "OK". When the contract arrived at $1800. I signed it thinking it would be completed in one day as promoted.
It wasn't.
No discount was offered for their failure to live up to the agreement.
I rated the quality and punctuality as excellent for the diligent hard work performed by the installer who has the unfortunate fate of working for this company. He worked pretty much non stop, and only took about 15 minutes for lunch. So I want to be clear that the installer was excellent; his work ethic exceeds the business ethic of Chino Heating and Cooling - in my opinion.

The new system is performing just as promised. Our old system was installed new 2 yrs ago in a new home and was not performing as it should. Our house is a ranch style, and very long, and the vents at the end of the house furthest from the air handler were blowing either cold air during operation of the heat, and warm air during air conditioning. Each room had a different temperature reading, varying as much as 10 degrees from the thermostat. Ric responded quickly to our call, and assured us the new plenum would fix our issues and he was right. Bill came out to measure and design the new plenum, using his vast experience and education. Matt, Frank, and Tyler installed a step down plenum over 2 days that provides for even air flow from the air handler out to the vents. They also installed a new style of vent cover to allow more efficient air handling. They were kind and professional, and did little to disrupt our life which was appreciated since I have the flu. They cleaned up their debris, and went out of their way to help us. We are very happy with Chino Heating and Cooling, highly recommend them, and will continue to use them for all of our HVAC maintenance needs.

Chino heating was the low bidder. They were on time and quickly replaced the old unit without damage to the roof, face yeah, or sockets. They send out an APS train to technician to inspect and approve the new unit so I could get my rebate.

On June 1, my tenant said that the central AC was not working, I called our regular guy who quoted $1300 to have the compressor replaced at the tune of $1300, brought from Utah as our system is 15 yrs old. Tenant would be without AC for at tleast 2 weeks. On June 3, I called for a second opinion, he talked about replacing 3 motors, this time for $1600 and no mention of anything being wrong with the compressor. Trying to understand which of the two experts were right, I called Chino heating and Cooling. The guy came on June 5, replaced some freon for $161 and the system has been working fine ever since.
