On October 21, 2014, the water heater in my mother?s home was leaking. This review is the result of my first call to a large heavily advertised company (Parker & Sons), how they badly faltered, and how I got a recommendation to call Roy Dossey, a small family-owned busines, who essentially "saved the day" with a new water heater installed with professionalism on all accounts.
At first, I called Parker & Sons because my 91-year-old mom had heard so many of that company?s ads, which were convincing
to her. I did not personally see the leak or resulting damage, as I live 40 miles from my mom, which means I need to rely highly on any contractor's honesty and professionalism. I had a bad sales experience with Parker & Sons, whose review is written under their name on Angie's List.  Upon a trusted recommendation, I called Roy Dossey Plumbing, a family-owned business.,
 
Roy Dossey quoted $950 to install the same water heater for which Parker & Sons had quoted $1300. They responded within an hour of my first contact with their office.  Upon arrival, Roy Dossey Plumbing informed me that there was no drywall damage at all, just a wet stand that would be fully stable when it dried. Parker & Sons' repairman had attempted to "sell" me on using a demolition company he knew of to rid of the drywall damage he claimed was present.
My opinion -- Thank God for family-owned companies who build their business upon integrity, and are proud
of it!  My mom didn?t get overcharged for the water heater, or tricked into buying services she didn?t need (demolition
and rebuild).  We have a fine new water heater in mom?s home, installed within a couple hours of the old product?s failure, accompanied by honest advice about the related drywall. And I now know a plumber I can rely on to be honest and professional in all respects.

They are always on time and do excellent work. I feel that my reputation is on the line when I refer vendors. I am happy to recommend Dossey. They are my trusted advisors on plumbing issues in listings or for buyers. They are fast and super honest. I can't say many more wonderful things about Dossey Plumbing. They were the contractor of choice for the City of Chandler. They have been in business for many, many years. They are also the plumber of choice for a major grocery chain. They are well known and have a great reputation and I am happy to recommend them.

They were very punctual, friendly and professional. They did the repair work to the pipes and then closed up the hole in the wall that they made all in a timely manner.

I have been a REALTOR for 19 years and depend on Roy Dossey Plumbing as one of my most knowledgeable vendors. My relationship started when I had a problem on my own house. They had the contract with the City of Chandler and were recommended by the City of Chandler. Since then, I use them as a vendor of choice whenever my clients need a plumber from a small repair such as changing corroded lines on a toilet to big repairs where the line from the house to the meter has been destroyed. I have them do the inspections on older houses and, recently, my client would have had a $6,000 bill had I now insisted they spend a litle money to send a camera down the pipe. They are fast, good and I know, if I recommend them that my clients feel that they are well taken care of.

It was a pleasant surprise to find Dossey Plumbing on Angie's List. We have used Roy Dossey Plumbing for approximately 30 years and have always been completely satisfied with their work. This is a family owned and run business and we have dealt with the entire family at one time or another. Our "children", all adults now, played together years ago so we have seen the character of this family as well as the work they do professionally. Today Chipper did the work for us. He always knows exactly what the job requires, does it in a reasonable time and leaves the area completely clean. He has a ready smile and patiently answers all the questions we ask. As usual, the project was a complete success.

In the midst of tiling the bathroom I discovered that the WC needed a new flange. I needed a plumber on short notice, so the tile installation wouldn't be delayed. Dossey Plumbing was able to come the next day and got the work done quickly.

I'VE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES, BECAUSE THE PROBLEM IS STILL NOT RESOLVED, BUT THEY HAVE NOT RETURNED CALLS AND HAVE NOT SENT SOMEONE OUT TO FIX IT. THE RECEPTIONIST ALWAYS SAYS SHE'LL HAVE SOMEONE CALL ME BACK, BUT THEY NEVER DO.

I HAD BEEN OUT OF THE HOSPITAL JUST FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS, I HAD HEART SURGERY AND WAS IN NO CONDITION TO TRY TO FIX THE CLOG MYSELF. THEY SENT A GUY OUT WHO HAD A HUGE ROTO ROUTER TYPE OF MACHINE AND HE JAMMED IT DOWN THE TOILET OVER AND OVER, IT SOUNDED LIKE HE WAS DESTROYING THE WHOLE HOUSE, IT MADE A TERRIBLE RACKET. HE DESTROYED MY TOILET, AND THEN SAID HE COULDN'T UNCLOG IT. HE ALSO SAID I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE MY TOILET AND HE TOOK THE TOILET TANK AND THE LID. ANOTHER GUY CAME OUT A FEW HOURS LATER AND TOLD ME HE WAS THERE TO REPLACE MY TOILET... HE SAID IF I COULDN'T PAY FOR IT ALL AT ONCE, THAT I COULD MAKE PAYMENTS. I TOLD HIM I WAS NOT GOING TO PAY THEM TO REPLACE A TOILET THAT THEY DESTROYED, ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY DIDN'T EVEN FIX THE CLOG. THE MAN ACTED IN A VERY ARROGANT MANNER AND TOLD ME THAT THE FIRST GUY WAS JUST A DITCH DIGGER, NOT EVEN A PLUMBER. THEY ARE NOW TRYING TO MAKE ME PAY FOR THEM BREAKING MY TOILET. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND NASTY.

THE WORKMAN WAS QUICK AND EFFICIENT. HIS PRICES WERE REASONABLE. HE DID A GREAT JOB ON THE UPSTAIRS SINK.

THIS COMPANY SENT A FELLOW NAMED CHIPPER. HE WAS VERY GOOD AND REASONABLY PRICED. THE COMPANY RESPONDED QUICKLY.
