When I originally interviewed this company I specifically asked for maintenance of the sprinkler system including adjusting settings for each season and repair the broken landscape lighting. I was told, in person, that yes they could and would maintain the sprinkler system and landscape lighting in addition to yard care. After repeated requests I did get some of the broken irrigation repaired. For this I received an invoice for a dollar amount with no indication of what was done. Several months later most of the broken irrigation originally present when company was contracted is still broken. After months of requests I am now told they do not handle any landscape lighting issues. M and M Landscaping flat-out lied to me about what services they provide. My entire reason for choosing them was that they said they would maintain irrigation in working order and repair lighting, which now they tell me they do not do.

I wasn't happy with the tree trimming they did. They also left quite a bit of trimming trash to be picked up by us.
The following appointment time was missed, and nobody called to let me know, so I tried to call their office to let them know that I didn't want them to come back. Nobody answered their business line, so I had to leave a message stating that they didn't need to come back because I was going back to my original yard maintenance company.

We have been using them for a couple of years. They are a family owned. You can call them and tell them to do something and they do it. They are very responsive to my calls. There is a crew of 4 people and they are here about an hour to complete the work. Most of the time, their qualily of work is an A. They are very nice people and do the job the right way.

At first, it was a pleasure working with Dora, the office manager. The young men who came to do the original work did a fine job. The problems I had were during our subsequent monthly scheduled appointments. They often forgot to put us on the schedule and I'd have to email Dora (not call - the phone number listed for their company is answered by a man who does not speak English) to try to get us rescheduled. These no-shows were inconvenient for us in that we'd have to make alternate arrangements for our dogs whenever the yard workers were due, and when they didn't come, it was a lot of work for nothing. It seemed like there were plenty of excuses for why it happened, and in the end it felt like a very disorganized company.
After forgetting to come for the second scheduled appointment within 3 months, I knew that this was not a reliable company, so I stopped using their services. Because of their unreliability, I do not recommend using this company at all.

"You are right, within the short time we service you, (3 MONTHS) the second month I forgot to add you to the schedule that Tuesday and we serviced you that same week on Thursday. And to our bad luck, the crew serviced an other client down the street with the same name (Member) by mistake. Our clients are important to us, but this was a wierd set of events. They have been maintaining my Landscape for over 2 to 2 and half years; got their name from Angie's Was good and responsive initially, but progressively got worse and ineffective
PROS; really nice people and easy to talk to talk especially Dora; Mr. Munoz, was far more conscientious whenever he came by.
CONS; * have to repeatedly call and point out the problems that need to be fixed; likely overgrown weeds, continually leaking drip lines, trees not getting watered at all
* lost many trees to their neglect in summer
* the last straw was the lawn; I have always got the winter lawn and this winter, they had not started till late into winter; I asked them when they were going to start; they said, oh you did not tell us; they then proceed to put in a winter lawn and the result was horrible and still it; they tried over seeding but to no avail. they acted completely clueless about the crucial timing of this.
* got many letters from my HOA as they fail to trim my trees [not very tall] and leave huge weeds popping out on the front yard.
* their son Ralph had charged me for mulch cover for the trees and gravel to cover the bald areas of my landscape and did not deliver for 3 months, giving one excuse after another. I finally withheld my payments and they complied
* one shocker was a huge water bills two months in a row in the winter months; I finally figured out multiple leaks and asked them to fix it. They then proceeded to tell me to call another subcontractor who does exactly that [He was a nice guy and did not charge me much]
* for a couple of weeks in early last summer none of my plants got watered and I figured out that the water timer was broken and I had to replace it; this broke again and messed with my lawn again
* they just come along and trim my lawn and blow the leaf in my pool [that is another issue my pool man is unhappy about] and take off. They don't even have a cursory glance on the general appearance of the landscape
* overall, I felt, I had to remind them of every little thing that they should automatically do * I have had been very accommodating to them due to their friendliness; but I could not take it anymore

"Hi member, I'm sorry it ended this way. When you recieved the original qoute back 2 1/2 years ago, you thought that the qoute we gave was too steep, so you agreed on a mow only for $30. a week. Later on in the months, you requested that everything get trimmed up and the guys did not charge you anything extra, even thought they spend a lot of time there trimming. As the time went on you expected everything be trimmed for the same cost ($30.) Later on when you started haveing sprinkler issues, I asked our sprinkler specialist to go over and you stopped him from going, you said you would take care of it. You didn't want to pay the extra cost. Later on I send the sprinkler specialist again and he charged you very little if nothing. I told him you didn't like to pay extra. Sometimes the systems need fixings and that requires a specialist attention. On a regular basis, the crew usually spends 1 hr at a property. I'm vert sorry it ended this way. I would like to highly recommend the company. They come on a monthly basis. My husband says sometimes they do the work and sometimes they don't. They are very nice people. Overall experiences I have not had a complaint. We continue to use them because of their allegiance to their work. I am not too familiar with other companies. The price is affordable for us. I haven't talked with anybody else what they pay because it's just not my term of conversation. I do really appreciate all the work that they do for us and I really do appreciate that family.

They were prompt with coming to do an estimate. They were flexible with scheduling (I scheduled them and then had to reschedule the day before). They were prompt on the day of the job.
They brought 2 crews and were quick and efficient with the work. We had one unfortunate incident - while one of the workers was trimming a bush near the house, a rock or something shot up and broke a window. I was very impressed that they didn't hesitate at all with taking responsibility or try to suggest that the window had already been broken. They also took responsibility for contacting a window repair vendor and getting it repaired quickly. Because of the cost to repair the window (double-paned, unfortunately), I don't think they ended up making much money on this job; however, their ethical and prompt handling of the broken window resulted in an impressed customer who will not hesitate to call them again.

Background: I'm a remote landlord. The property is managed by a property manager. I was looking for a company to take over yard work and that would be able to service a local property with a remote owner which includes the ability to email before and after pictures, send pdf invoices and accept remote payment which takes a more mature operation then I'm accustomed to coming across in this business.
Called Dora at Mand M for an estimate. She said she'd have one the following day. I didn't hear from her so I called a day later and complained since being remote, I need things to be done on schedule. She apologized and proceeded to make a personal trip to my property to provide an estimate. I was very happy to hear the amount estimated and scheduled work. She sent pictures of the damaged tree to my email. Work was performed as promised on the date promised. This was followed by after pictures as well as an invoice.

Based on glowing reports from Angie's List, I hired M and M to maintain my lawn two times monthly. They came as scheduled, mowed, and occasionally did some shrub trimming. My previous service had done shrub and small tree pruning and weed control for only $10.00 a month more, so I was not impressed. I had problems on two occasions with my irrigation system, for which I called M and M .Neither call was returned. One call involved the system being turned on after Mand M mowed. When I returned home from work 5 hours later, the irrigation system was still irrigating and the system could not be turned off . A return call would have been appreciated Unfortunately, I also had problems with double billing. I am glad many others can provide strong reports for M and M. They did not work out for me.

They come every 2 months. I don't even have to schedule this appointment! Yesterday, they even sprayed my rocks for weeds because we have recently gotten a lot of rain. This is not something they normally do, and I did not even have to ask them to. They do extra little things and do a great job! They also give free estimates. They came out in December, and knocked on my door and said that the yard doesn't really look like it needs anything. He offered to skip this appointment, as we didn't need anything done. It is rare to find some one who is not trying to get money out of you.

They did a fine job on the initial clean up. At that time I told them that there were certain trees and plants that I did not want them to touch, ever. Despite my instructions, each time they came for montly maintenance they cut branches off the trees they had been told not to touch. The only time they didn't was a time when I taped notes to my trees. The notes read, "Never trim these trees!" Today I arrived home just as they were finishing their work and found that again they had cut branches off my trees, branches that had just begun to grow back from the last time they they had cut them. Mand M doesn't seem to keep any notes or anything to remind them of what the customer wants. I guess they try to depend on their memory or else they simply disregard the customer's instructions.

Had a difficult time getting appointment scheduled; called multiple times. The guys were very pleasant and nice, but they did not perform work as thoroughly as I expected. For example, the palo brea had been staked up in early September and had new growth on the bottom branches, but they did not trim them off. They left stragglers near the bottoms of the bushes in the front and back yard. They did not smooth the rocks in places where the dirt was showing underneath (other companies have done so without my asking specifically for it to be done).

I have been using them for more than 3 years. I have a very big yard. They are very good and reliable. They have never let me down until now. Sometimes they do not come on a scheduled day but that does not bother me, as they will come another day to work. The crew speaks English. They maintain the yard very well.
