I later called the Gilbert store and left a message for the owner Jeff.  I have spoke with Jeff before over the inconsistency of the quality of sizing in my duvets.  I was not impressed with his customer service.  Jeff called me back and after speaking with him said “yes they could have been washed ....but we can re-stretch them.”  Again I was incredulous over this reply as in my experience you cannot stretch silk.  He later texted me saying he needed more time… I only presumed his “stretching” is not going so well.  I picked my drapes up two days later and they had indeed "grew" 7 inches.  Oddly I found loose threads on the top of my drape, as well as a damaged ring holder.  It appears as though someone removed the hem on the top of the drape and then had it re-sewn.  Bottom line -- I don't know what they did for certain but my silk drapes were washed, returned damaged and no reply from the owner on replacing them.
