Called and spoke with James about painting our townhouse. He happened to be finishing up some units in Broadmore Place. He came over that same day to do a take off and give us a quote. We settled on James because he's been doing this for a while, runs his own crew instead of subbing work out, and is an owner - operator, all very critical to being a good contractor, in my opinion. He gave us a tentative date range and called the day before he showed up with his 4 man?crew, first thing in the morning and finished the job at 5;00 that same day. When I pointed out a spot he had missed ( where the property ends and the adjoining neighbors begins, not obvious and no fault of his), he took care of it at no additional charge. He insisted we walk the exterior to review and examine his work, which was excellent. He gaurantees his work and made sure I knew that if I caught anything he may have missed, to call him and he would be back to fix it, no matter when. All in all, very happy with his work.

While selling a house to a difficult buyer,  we found ourselves in a situation of having to knock out a ton of nit-picky things on our 40+ year old house.  Among those was repainting the wood trim and eaves along the roofline.

I solicited 4-5 bids through Angie's List - only one responded, but never actually followed up or provided a quote.

Another contractor told me he doesn't do that kind of work; only full repaints.

We got a bid from another contractor, who came in at $1,600 or so.

I called James Horn, had a great phone conversation with him, discussing what I wanted to get done.  He went by the house the same day, checked it out, and came back lower than the other guy.  Hired him the next morning.

He kept in communication with us (we scheduled a few weeks out) which we really appreciated - between the kids, dogs, work, selling a house, buying a house, and dealing with various contractors, it's good to know where everyone is.

He showed up, on the day we agreed upon, on time, and he and his crew got to work.  End result?  House looks great, no surprises in the final invoice, and we are happy as can be.

Even when we couldn't find the checkbook (house is half packed up!), he said he'd just swing by on Saturday to pick up the check.

Stop scanning the listings, and call James - he's a great guy, does great work, and delivers 110%.  You will not be disappointed.

Excellent.  From the initial visit to provide a cost estimate to staying in touch with when the job would be started he was professional and upfront.  He ensured the paint colors were in keeping with the HOA. His crew showed up when they were supposed to and worked until the daily jobs were done.  We were very happy and have already recommended him to others.

If I could give an A+ I would. This has been the single best service provider experience I've ever had. Typically I would do the work myself but I decided to get a bid and I'm so glad I did. James was always on time and very helpful in choosing paint colors. The scope of work was more than I expected and the quality of the work was INCREDIBLE. James and his crew were thoroughly professional from the initial estimate right through the final inspection. The quality of the painting job that he completed was outstanding. His crew went the extra mile to find a local carpenter for me to replace some facial beams suffering from rotting. All told, I would definitely use him again for future exterior painting projects.

It went so well. I honestly could not be happier with the backyard fence. The stucco and new color look great and it was a very inexpensive yet quality job. I don't usually feel comfortable with contractors so I was very relieved that he was so pleasant to work with. I felt he was very honest and on time which was very important. I recommended to some neighbors who were very pleased with James also. Other neighbors have been hiring James for years! I can't wait to hire him again for additional work!!!

James and his two person crew did an excellent job of prepping and painting our home exterior. He was great to work with, and very professional. He helped us to select colors we would be happy with, and used quality Dunn Edwards paint. He made sure we were completely satisfied at the end of the process. The house looks great. Nothing shy of excellent! From beginning contact to end, James made sure he knew what we wanted and the job was quality. He came over for a quote the day after I called him and had great communication through out the entire job.  He was very easy to work with and professional.  He made sure we were happy with our sample colors and sheen before we began. His detail to prep and clean up added to the quality paint job.  His crew were friendly and professional as well! The house is beautiful. We will return to him for all our paint needs and refer anyone looking for quality work and great service.

James and his crew were always polite, professional and punctual. I could go on, but if you read the other positive reviews I experienced the same 'extra mile' service. My house had not been painted in 15 years and the sun had taken its toll. the side gates had rust and the boards looked very poor. The porch ceiling was literally falling apart and that took extensive work to restore before the paint touched it. The house is 2 story and over 3400 sf and the 'pop outs' are an accent color. If you go over what work was done and know that the work was done with care and quality the price comes out at a superior value.

I received detailed quotes from multiple contractors.  I was impressed with James when I met him.  He was punctual and professional throughout the entire sales process and during the service delivery.  He didn't try to up-sell me on other work like other contractors.  He explained each step and worked with us to make sure we were comfortable with the colors and the approach.  He and his team worked diligently and got all of the work done in a single day. I highly recommended him.

James and his crew did an excellent job painting our home. The crew took great care to protect items that couldn't be moved. Everything looks very precise and we we are very pleased. I would highly recommend and I am keeping James phone number so when it comes time to repaint, he has our business again.

James was a true professional, When I contacted him over the phone he called back and schedule the time to give me the quote. On the day that I selected he showed up on time and gave a great quote. I scheduled the work with him and on the day that the work was performed his crew came in on time and re-painted the house, his co-worker where professional, clean and provided great customer services.  My partner and I are very happy with the end result and we definitely will recommend him to our Familly and Friends.

We received several quotes to get our house painted and he gave a competitive price for the entire package of work to be completed.  James is a very knowledgeable and likeable guy.  He was the best salesman of the bunch and his quality of work showed when it was all completed.  James was easy to communicate with via text and email.  He painted about 6 different color combinations on our side wall to help us decide which color combinations we wanted.  I'm glad he did because it looks much different on the wall than in the book of color choices.  He also gave us his opinion on what he thought would look good based on our landscape and past experiences.    He has a great crew that was very hard working and made several drywall repairs and seals on our stucco. They also replaced a broken dryer vent cover to my request and did a great job with it even though he said they had never replaced one of those before.  His crew hung up new outdoor house numbers and lights on our house for us as well.  Not all companies were willing to do all these little extra things.  I think they could fix just about anything on the outside of your house. I liked the fact that they can do elastomeric roof coverings so we didn't have to use 2 separate companies. James was in touch with us every day his crew was here to make sure everything was going ok. He left us a gallon of each paint color in case we ever needed to do any touchups later down the road.  We were highly satisfied and will use him in the future.  I would recommend that you include James Horn on your list of companies to get quotes from.  Even if you don't go with his company as least you'd have an honest, knowledgeable company to compare to.

I could not be more pleased.  James worked with me to find just the right colors and his crew was great.  They got done everything in 3 days start to finish and that was in spite of a rain storm.  Nothing was too much trouble for James.  When I had an issue with my garage door not closing correctly after the power wash, he got someone out to take look at it... no charge... all is working and it very well could have been just the age of the garage door opener. When he was hooking my hoses back up in the front, one of them snapped and broke.  He went and bought a new soaker  hose and laid it all around my plants.  I didn't even know he did it, I saw it later when I was out watering the plants.  I drastically changed the colors of the house from southwest to Mediterranean.  I had him paint the bricks out front a tan color and went from a peachy beige to a brownish red on the stucco.  He mentioned that it could use just a touch of the Mediterranean green and I had been thinking the same.  Well... he went and got a quart of the paint and did the attic ventilation slats and a small header board over my front door.  Just the right touch.  He has a great company and I will definitely work with him again. You should also know that he is not an absentee owner.  He would show up at the job 2 or 3 times a day to make sure we were happy and all was going right.  I have been in Arizona for about 20 years and he is the BEST tradesman I have worked with.  Don't let this guy get away... he is one in a million

James promptly came for an estimate on the first day I contacted him. He slightly under-bid another competitor. The work was rapidly accomplished in a mere 3 days the following week. Day 1-power washing & taping. Day 2-painting walls & trim. Day 3-final touch ups. Great job!

He went over and above what we were expecting. The clean-up was phonephone and they left no mess. Everyone on the team was extremely knowledgeable and helpful throughout the project.

James was very prompt in submitting an estimate for the proposed job and explaining what he planned to do (e.g., masking floors and wherever else needed, caulking motor joints in wood fascia, priming and painting all eaves, fascia, and peaks, cleaning up and hauling away work related debris).  We wanted the work done within a week, and he was able to fit us in.  All the work was done in two days and the end result looks great.  We were also very pleased that he gives a 15% senior discount on the price.
