It was fine.  He was in Angie's List; I like the reading and I like the comments.  He came right out and did the work.  He kept it clean and cleaned up when he was done.

On Thursday, Sept 12, 2013 the spring on my garage door broke.
Late afternoon of the 12th I called and made an appointment with Bill to come out and replace the broken spring. He asked me about the door and quoted me $175 to replace the spring with a 5 year warranty.
He was available the next afternoon, Friday. He called to see if he could show up an hour early! Yup, early, not late.
When he arrived he determined that I had a custom door, 18' wide, instead of the usual 16'. He did not have the part with him. He could order it and return on Monday morning.
On Monday morning, once again he called to see if he could arrive early. Yes! It took him less than 45 minutes, and I had a garage door that would open and close again! Wonderful.

The conpany arrived and replaced the torsion springs in approximately 20 minutes. Discovered a missing bushing in the process. the company provided a bushing as part of the service. Lubricated all the hinges, rollers and the newly installed springs. Garage door is quiet and runs smooth.

Garage door quite working over weekend. Called Affordable on Monday and they came out and repaired within hours.

Had a great experience with Affordable. They were able to quote over the phone, and worked with us on some unique challenges caused by the storm damage to our doors. Sorry for the lack of details, but it has been a few months since the work was performed.

I gave Bill a call late yesterday afternoon. He is very friendly and knowledgeable - explained my options clearly understanding what I needed and didn't try to up-sell me. Scheduled for this morning, he showed up promptly, did a great job - and charged an absolutely fair price. I would not hesitate to use Bill and Affordable Garage Door Service again and highly recommend them.

I was in need of repair after my garage door stopped working properly. It would only move a couple inches, then stop, every time I pressed the opener button. I called the company and explained the problem. The representative actually attempted to troubleshoot the problem for me over the phone for free. After his recommendations failed he offered to come out later that day to check it out. Arrived on time, and inspected the opener. He showed me that I could still open and close the door as long as I held the button down; however that was only effective for the house controls, not the remote in my cars. The company recommended a new garage door opener that would cost $370 total (unit, labor, lifetime warranty) and said he would be available next day to fix it. Since I work a graveyard shift, I left my garage door open for him, so he can replace the unit while I was sleeping. I woke up to a new garage door that works wonderfully! The company was extremely professional, and I am impressed with their integrity.

One of the springs on my garage door broke. The handyman I use recommended Affordable Garage Door. They came the day after I called, on time, and did the job quickly and professionally.

I was really surprised at the quick responsiveness of Bill. He was very concienscence and professional.

Job 1: I heard what sounded like a basketball being thrown at my 25 year old garage door. I went outside to see and there was nothing. I looked in the garage, and nada. The next morning the garage door wouldn't open. The pressure spring had snapped and shot a piece of itself through 2 boxes. Bill was called and came out that day since I had to miss work. He asked questions about the door before he came out so he had the right replacement pieces on an old model door. He worked quickly, replaced the spring and suggested what I should look for if I ever had to replace this door (which was on its last leg). His repair held up well, but I eventually replaced the door. I called them because I was happy with the service, price and punctuality again. Job 2: It went very well. He had to do some replacement of wood framing and that was all explained and shown to me ahead of time.
