ABSOLUTE CONTRACTING

The contractor was arrogant, difficult to deal with during construction and not at all customer oriented. He was extremely heavy handed on the sales side as well. When I contracted with this builder we agreed on the size and shape of the overhang. While digging for the footers the contractor noted some old wiring and sprinkler system lines. Having initially consulted with me on what the alternatives were, we decided to build a box around the wires to ensure that the cement would not interfere should I ever need to get to wires. Two days later, while I was in the house I heard a saw. The contractor had decided not to build the box, but instead cut into my just laid patio pavers without consulting me. He did not offer me any rationale as to what he did not inform me of the change, he offered no apology or concession. The workers often left construction debris around the yard as well as nails in the pool. The nail stains in the pool were subsequently professionally removed. At the end of construction, the contractor was visibly and vocally upset that he did not get his standard markup because I requested that he come back a few times to fix things that were not right. I'm not knocking the workers that did the physical work or any outsourced third party. The end product is fine but the attention to detail was lacking. I would never again pay this company to do any work.
