CHACON LANDSCAPING

It was several extra days before the work began. I had paid a half down deposit in cash. The second day I learned from Chacon himself that he pays his help $8 per hour (starting pay) and that help is hard for him to get and keep. This was his reason for some delay. I also learned from two of his workers that they had served time in prison. One of them was quite elaborate about telling me his story. He basically was a theif and Chacon felt it okay to have him working on a residence job, mine, a single female with a career in law enforcement which he knew from the start. Later when I asked for a couple items done that had not been done as discussed, he sent another invoice after completion. He also did not give me the cash discount that we is listed on his invoice. Honestly I was embarrassed to ask for it after the fact. (it is 3%) but that would have been $150. The attention to detail was lacking. They left their soda cans and debris on my property. Many tractor trails just left dug into the ground and not smoothed. They had some extra rock that spilled in the gravel driveway. I would have spread it out if it were my crew.The boss never showed up to see how this job was coming along and really never asked if I was happy with the work. When you hire a landscaper like this you hope that a relationship with them comes with it so that further work can be done by someone with knowledge of the place. They covered a lot of my irrigaion in the front yard with rocks and I'll have to have someone else uncover them and fix them I guess.
