Solar Bear

It went well. He checked the AC on the roof for proper voltage output,liquid pressure,leaks and the filters. Did not do the hot spot check.  The Tech told me the capacitor was leaking and the aluminum filters needed cleaning. Recomended a new capacitor At $282.00, acid wash on the aluminum filters at $240.00. I called the Ac maker and was told the capscitor does not have any liquid in them also the acid bath would deteriorate the aluminum filters. So in all I was riped off of $39.00. I am going to call them to see what they have to say about this. He was also trying to sell me a $500.00 3 year service contract.

They did an inspection and said everything was fantastic on my system. They also said that there was a crack in my heat exchanger and that it needed to be replaced. I was directed to call Lennox based on my lifetime limited warranty. I was warned that the labor to install this part was going to be pricey. I contacted Lennox but they only deal with Lennox dealers, not homeowners. I went online, then, to find Lennox dealers and Solar Bear is not one of them.

In the meantime, I notified Daisy Mountain Heating and Cooling to have them come look at my unit for a second opinion. They provided great service and could help contact Lennox to get the part I needed. They did not have the proper equipment to diagnose my furnace and were relying on what Solar Bear provided based on a photo of the cracked heat exchanger. Solar Bear refuses to release that photograph.

I still have a cracked heat exchanger and Solar Bear is not contacting me back at all.
