Awesome, we were rather reluctant to board our dogs as we never had in the past due to everyone's reaction to American Bulldogs.  Upon first sight, they assume they are a pit bull and have that temperament.  Our have not been socialized as much due to this so we were concerned.  They were confident everything would be fine, and it was... Lots of contact with employees and the dogs loved it.  We will be boarding them there during our vacation in July with no reservations (reluctance)!

Love the team at thIs location.

Nice place and looks clean. The cats have a separate area from the dogs which is probably out of earshot. The cat room has sizeable cages that look out onto the parking lot through large windows. They have also attached a bird feeder to the outside of the window so the cats can watch the birds feeding. If possible they give the cats time out of their cages so they can lay on the shelf next to the window and watch the birds or just get a little exercise in the cat room. While I never like taking the cats to a boarding facility I know they are safe there. They also have someone on premises 24/7 and are located next door to an Emergency veterinary hospital. There was only one other boarder when I dropped our cats off.

The Pete and Mac's in Avondale is a clean kennel with a very friendly staff. We have boarded both of our dogs there for two weekend stays as well as a week long stay. The dogs seem to enjoy the experience and haven't exhibited any fear when they return, in fact they usually pull us into the Pete and Mac's lobby as soon as we get out of the car. We recently moved to the Phoenix area and while this kennel wasn't recommended to us we've found that several people that we've spoken to about us using them have often commented that they have used them as well and add how much they and their dogs love Pete and Mac's - so it seems like other people have had the same experience we have had. They seem to be much more organized then other kennels - with everything computerized and details forms for many things and everything scheduled out from feedings, play times, day care sessions, grooming and baths. This is all so much better from kennels we've used before we moved here where things were very laid back and sometimes the staff didn't really know answers to basic questions- which is not the issue here. I also really liked how they have a computerized tag for your dog that goes around their neck like a collar with their name in big letters on it - yet another very organized thing that easily notifies the staff of each dog very easily. I would recommend them to anyone and plan to use them for years to come.

It went wonderful! They are bringing my dog out of his shell. They are all great. They play with the dogs at doggie day care. We plan to board them in October.

They really treated my Great Dane 'puppy' like a child going to daycare. We were both nervous as it was his first stay away from home since being rescued from the local shelter. The Pete and Mac staff was all very friendly, organized, and helpful. He can be a handful and everyone was very understanding. They even gave me a full report, just like a daycare center when I picked him up. I expected him to be a mess because he has a lot of separation anxiety from his lonely 10 week stint at the shelter. To my delight, he was happy and bouncy when I picked him up. I will be taking him back for daycare and training.

They do a really nice job and have wonderful facilities. The price is not the lowest, but at the end of the day you are guaranteed to know your pet is being taken care of and will want to go back!

He was treated really well. He was great after I picked him up. I've taken him a couple times, even just for the day. And he's had two extended stays. Both times were great; he had no behavior changes I noticed. They had play areas and allow dogs to play with each other when the dogs are fixed. They're extremely clean, the cages are large, and there are different choices for pet owners. They all seem to really love the animals, I have no complaints.
