KORD'S NAPA COLLISION CTR

Most of my story is noted above. My dad paid a lot of money for a problem that this shop said would fix but it didn't fix the problem and my dad got stuck in the desert by himself today and he's pushing 80! Thankfully a couple people knew where he was and were able to get him but this should have never happened. If this auto service shop had really been doing their job correctly to begin with my dad wouldn't have been stuck again and now had to leave his vehicle out in the desert overnight because he couldn't get it started again to drive it home. The area where his vehicle is left has a lot of illegals going through there (this is not politically incorrect but is the truth) and I'm afraid they could either steal his vehicle or do some significant damage. I am very upset that my dad has been taken advantage of like this and he's not one to make a fuss so I'm going to do it for him by writing up what's happened. This is a true event that just happened today (Saturday), January 9th The only good outcome that can come out of this is that my dad will be able to go back out to the desert and get his vehicle to start up and get it back to this shop and have them refund his money or actually fix it right this time and not charge him a dime. If this happens then I'll raise my rating but until then this will be a 1-star rating. (If I could give 0-stars I would). I hate seeing people (especially my parents) be taken advantage of so this shop better make this right for my dad. 01/10/2011 Update: Per my dad today, he was able to pick up his truck on Sunday, 01/09 (after considerable trouble as it required another drive out to the desert and having someone else drive him out there) and he was barely able to get his truck started and get it back to Ajo but he did make it. My dad informed me today that the shop did fix the problem and replaced his starter for free. I asked my dad if the other work was really even necessary to begin with (which I doubt it was) but my dad said that it was fine. However, I want him to drive his truck a ways again and turn off the engine and have someone else follow him at the same time so that if it doesn't start again he'll have a ride this time. I've moved up my rating a little bit but still this huge inconvenience for my dad and paying out extra for this other work could have probably been avoided. (Sorry Kord but I am very protective of my parents and I've seen my dad get taken advantage of a lot over the years with various mechanics so I'm his advocate since I'm clear across country and can't be there to make sure he's not taken advantage of but I do appreciate you replacing his starter and not charging him which was only right). Please take good care of my dad in the future and don't charge him for unnecessary work and make sure it's done right the first time. I've only got 1 dad and he's elderly and I don't want him stuck again by himself out in the middle of nowhere as he still likes to go out to the desert or drive to Phoenix and Tucson by himself.
