Mr. Hodges started the job with a bang. A couple of weeks into the project he stopped showing up because he was doing other jobs. He blew our agreed upon deadline by 4 weeks at which time I had to contact the property owners association attorney for advice. After threatening Hodges with legal action, we signed a contract to get the job finished. Even with a new contract dealine looming he waited until the last minute to show up and complete the job. He had painted the pool with an epoxy/rubber base product which had been sitting in the hot sun for weeks waiting for the tile work to be completed. When the tile work was finally finished, with a lot of messy mortar on the pool deck, the painted pool surface was bubbled and extremely stained. I was not happy with the way it looked and he said he would fix it. The fix was to recoat without any prep. The pool was then filled a day later even though the product guidelines stated it couldn't be filled for three days. Mr.Hodges said it would not damage the surface. In reality, he only had one more day until his new contractual deadline and he did not want to start losing money. After 3 weeks of having water in the pool the surface began to peel. I contacted Mr.Hodges immediatley and reported this. He wanted us to use the pool the rest of the season and said he would fix it when the pool was closed for the season. In the fall he would not return phone calls. I began calling in January of the next year. He finally returned one in March and stated that 'one of his guys' must have put the product on improperly and that he would fix it. He told me to drain the pool and he would be here in mid-March to begin. He never showed to do the repair and never returned another phone call.I have since had to prep the pool myself (acid wash, powerwash, etc) and paint it because we do not have the money to hire someone to do it again for the second year in a row. Save yourself the money and the heartache and call anyone but this guy!
