Handyman Service
The deck was done beautifully and he also ran our downspout under the deck to a drainage ditch. Very nice work.
The stove and vent hood went well, except the stove stuck out too far. After waiting a month for them to return, they leveled the stove better and managed to change the gas connection so the stove didn't stick out so far from the cabinets.
The bathroom ceiling and fan are very nice, tho I had them paint the ceiling as well and it wasn't the best job. While working, they loosened the screw that held one end of the shower curtain and promised to come back and fix it. I was promised that he would refer his "floor man" to examine our hardwood floors, but that never happened.
The crack in the kitchen ceiling returned and they promised to come back and fix it. This was in late March. It is now May 1 and although we have called them twice, receiving promises they'd be here "next week" each time, they have not been in touch nor have they returned to finish up. I have resigned myself to fixing the shower curtain myself and also just live with the crack in the ceiling. It's not as bad as it was at least.
Most of the work they did was great. The problem is trying to get them to keep a commitment. I was disappointed as I thought we had found a good handyman business. Although it is Doug's business, he does have others working for him and the inside repairs were made by one of his men with his supervision.
I have resolved to not use them in future.
