I called on a recommendation and was given a very quick appointment. I figured with all the busted pipes in the areas that I might have to wait longer than I did. I called on a Friday and was given a Monday appointment (a holiday for many of us). They called when they realized they were going to be a bit late. They set up all the equipment to detect a leak and weren't initially finding anything until we wondered my property and discovered a whole set of lines and an above ground faucet that we didn't even know existed. They capped it off so that it would start leaking but let me know that I would need to get it fixed or capped off lower in order for it not to freeze again. I was impressed with their professionalism and I felt they went above the call since the capping off was not part of the initial request but they felt that they should and could since it was within the timeframe we had agreed upon. I would use these again.

Traditional plumbers and septic service companies did not seem to want my business locating the source of the sewer gas we were smelling. ALD found it within two hours, and provided a recommended course for remediating the problem.

We were very pleased. They seemed very confident and sure of themselves. Worked steadily and professionally. Did not make a mess. Showed us the steps that we needed to see. Friendly and easy to talk to as they progressed through the steps of the job.

After receiving a visit from the local water dept advising us of excessive water consumption(16,000 gallons), and, after conducting all the standard do-it-yourself tests to determine the leak, we called our home-owner warranty insurance company who referred us to their own "in-network" offering. We had not been able to find any obvious leak, ourselves, but had suspicion it stemmed from the house and not the meter line. We feared a slab-leak. I contacted the in-network plumber who was cordial but admitted that his company had minimal leak-detection capability. Upon my asking if he would recommend another company, he sent me to ALD who was able to obtain authorization from the insurance company to get involved. Lenny, the ALD plumber/technician took less than a half-hour to find the leak and, albeit it was not a complicated leak, he gave us an education, in laymen's terms, as to the nature of it. He, then, went right to work and replaced the parts. Having been in trades for 10 years in the past, I tend to recognize those who are true professionals or craftsmen. Lenny was one of those. Following the repair, all was good. The work was done quickly with no mess or damage. ALD is a franchise company, therefore, they were a bit high-priced but I felt relieved to have paid for peace-of-mind and would refer them to anyone who wants quality service.

, provider could not help other than give me an excellant referral to Bryan Claypool. had bought house with pool 3 months ago. was told by inspector that pool just needed shock. after 4 separate shocks and much vaccing, backwash, etc. and two so called professionals and help from friends, pool was still quite green with algae and i was beginning to despair. after Bryan Claypool got on the case, pool is now near perfect. his help was invaluable and i cannot say enough good about him.

They were unable to locate my leak using non destructive means. They ended up having to cut into my walls and it took two trips. The problem is that I had to pay them an extra hour and a half labor on top of the initial fee that I was quoted to find the leak. They quoted me a price to run the diversion lines and I agreed since my wall was open and my water shut off and I didn't want to waste time checking around withg other plumbers. WHAT A STUPID MISTAKE- They charged me $525 to find my leak, this was the $350 initial fee plus the extra hour and a half, plus $1500 to run the diversion lines. I was completely happy with the repairs but was amazed that it took them 3-4 hours to complete the line diversion after they completed the repairs. That works out to between $375 to $500 an hour for labor and materials. I was flabbergasted and felt that I had just been had. Again, no knock on the quality of the repairs but the total cost. I have updated this since the repairs because I had another leak on a unrelated section of the water line. I had learned my lesson and called a local plumber I found here on Angies list that was highly recommended. He was able to come out and locate the leak, dun a diversion line with two drops and was done in less than 3 hours. The cost? $325 dollars for labor and material. he even used the same pipe and insulation that American Leak Detectors used. I was amazed, How does American Leak Detectors sleep at night charging people like this. I would never recommend them to anyone when there are many honest plumbers that will do the same job at a fair price. Trust me, look around.
