Within a few months of moving in, the cabinet finish began to get white spots and flake off wherever there was any water contact. I took some of the doors back twice for refinishing. The owner commented, "These look like they have had water on them." I replied, "It's a kitchen, it's a bathroom, of course they have had water on them." We are adults and use the cabinets in a totally ordinary way, with occasional drops splashed on them, but no big spills or standing water. They told me they sanded and resprayed the doors. The sanding appeared to be only in spots, not overall. The finish continued to fail. I contacted the manufacturer of the finish, but they said there were too many variables to say it was their product, so they could not help. I had let a couple of years go by after the last respraying because I really dreatded dealing with the cabinet maker again. He used this delay to say that there was nothing he would do, except refinish the cabinets and charge me full price. I will not use this company again, or recommend them to anyone. Note: The cabinets are a very plain, craftsman style in natural maple. They are well constructed, except that the central panels are loose and "clacky", rather than tight and solid. There is a lot of variation in color between the parts and the finish has yellowed over time. Installation was good.
