Gomez Landscaping

I have used Gomez Landscaping several times in the past and was very pleased with their price, quality of work, responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism. They advertise heavily on Craigslist in the Northwest Arkansas (NWA or NWAR) area, and state "over 13 years experience." Yesterday, the day before currently scheduled work, I obtained a quote for the services: $75 for 3-4 man hours. We agreed on a 9 a.m. appointment today. By 9:45, I had not heard from them, so I sent a text message inquiry. At 10:06 a.m. I received a reply saying they would not take less than $120. I replied that I don't allow contractors to charge more than the quote unless it is immediately after the quote and only with good reason. I also stated that I wish they had told me they weren't going to show up for the job, so I could have made arrangements with someone else. Because of the no-show and no-call, and the more than 50% above quote change, I will not use them again. It's unpleasant to experience this after their fine service in the past.
