Firestone Complete Auto Care

Less than 6000 miles later, one and a half years, the engine light came on again. O'Reilly's said it was Code P0332 again - the knock sensors. I called back Firestone who said the parts and labor were out of warranty and I would have to pay the full cost again if they determined it was the same problem. Firestone only has a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty. So i took the vehicle to a different ASE certified mechanic and shared the history. The first question they asked was, "Did they replace the wiring harness? You nearly always need to replace the wiring harness in addition to the knock sensors." They diagnosed it as the very same problem again and said both knock sensors and the wiring harness needed to be replaced. They said, "This is a common, known problem." I searched the problem online which verified this problem in 1999-2007 models and "the wiring harness should be replaced in addition to both knock sensors," I called back Firestone and the manager insisted they did the repair right the first time, saying he called the Chevrolet dealership who said replacing the wiring harness is not "required." I asked why it wasn't even suggested to me to replace the wiring harness. He wanted me to bring the truck back to Firestone but said I would have to pay for all parts and labor, even if it was the same problem. He would only diagnose the problem for free. So I had the very same repair done over again with another mechanic who offers a 3 year/36,000 warranty on parts and labor.

My truck stopped running. I had to jump it three times to get to the Firestone.  they did not have the battery in stock that I needed.  they followed me to the closest autozone so I could buy the battery that I needed.  when I returned to the firestone with the battery they installed it free of charge.  You don't see this type of service or care anymore.
