They scheduled for a 4 hour refinish and finished in 2 and a half hours. This is basically a paint job with epoxy paint. My tub/shower was almond color and the clear coat had deteriorated over 30 yrs. It left a yellowed, inconsistent color that looked dirty. The refinish was white, but it did not cover the old finish and you can see it through the white finish. Also, the tub has a gritty feel on bottom that is not comfortable to stand on. I stated this to them at the time of service and they said "we put two coats on and that's all we do". Both the guy that did the work and his boss, tried to tell me this was a reflection, but clearly it isn't. They don't care if you are dissatisfied. I would not this again and I cancelled doing the other bath.

The work was very good. It came out looking like a new sink.

*3/17/16 Contacted Surface Renew to discuss our fiberglass tub enclosure in one of our rental properties. To be clear, all aspects of the repair were discussed, with my first concern being color matching and my second concern was structure support for the tub floor. I was assured that expanding foam would be injected under the tub and if the repair could not be matched they would paint the entire enclosure which is rather easy, according to Ryan. The package was bought and we put him in touch with the current renter and property management team to get the work done. 7/09/16 we drove into L.R., as the current renters lease was over, unfortunately, this was the first time seeing Surface Renews repair and, to put it mildly, it looked like a kid was let loose in the bathtub with a can of play-dough. I stepped into the tub to check the structure and the bottom of the tub still flexed, solidifying my hunch that the foam injected under the tub was not a high density foam. *7/10/16 I called Ryan at first light with my findings and he came over the same day to look at the work; we both agreed it was shoddy and not done properly. He scheduled the repair for Monday, July 18th and assured me it would be done correctly. *9/3/16 Drove back to L.R. and, after seeing the handfuls of sanding dust turned to muck left in my toilet, hand prints all over the walls, white dusty footprints left throughout the front of my house and the incomplete repair done to my bathtub I immediately called Ryan and was told to call him on Tuesday, he was on vacation and didn't have time to deal with this!! Really? In most industries, when you have an upset customer, the last thing they want to hear is "call me back on Tuesday." I immediately followed up the phone call with a picture of the bathtub via text message hoping Ryan wouldn’t forget the mess that Surface Renew created at my home. I want to believe that Surface Renew does a good job but, only under the watchful eye of a homeowner... However, if left to their own devices, the poor character and poor customer service of the company comes shining through. If you can't be there for the repair, do yourself a favor and call someone else.

We had the work done on several dates. One bathroom had a cultured marble vanity that was full of tiny black cracks, and the walk-in shower tile was permanently stained from 20+ years of use. We were looking for a less expensive way to update them without tearing them out and starting over. The work took about three to four hours, but the results were stunning. The finish is a little rough at first, but smooths out a little after cleaning it. The shower floor had a spot that started to peel after a few days, but they came out, stripped it and re-applied it and it has been perfect since then. The next bathroom had another cultured marble vanity and a porcelain glazed cast iron tub that had a fair amount of light scratches from many years of use. The smooth white finish looks like porcelain, and has been durable and scratch free after a couple of months of regular use. Both vanities are great too. We've dropped full cans of hair spray or shaving creme on the them without the slightest mark. The kitchen was a big project since it had a lot of formica to cover - including the backsplashes. Once again they finished in a few hours and the finish is hard and mostly solid. I say mostly because we discovered that there is a weakness for green jello. My son was making some and spilled a little on the countertop. He wiped it up within a couple of minutes, but it left a stain. We've had hot pans, cooking oil, vinegar, salad dressing and other stuff spilled on the counter with no issues, but green jello left a stain. It makes you wonder about eating it, but I digress. Once again Surface Renew was quick to prep and respray that section, and we've had no issues since. The application process is pretty intense. They did an excellent job taping off and protecting fixtures and everything else from overspray. They ventilate the area to the outside, but it still has a strong odor during application, and for several hours afterwards. We kept our pets away from the areas being sprayed for 24 hours just to be safe. The odor goes away quickly though, and they leave instructions for care that are simple to follow. Scrubbing Bubbles works wonders cleaning the new surfaces. I can't remark on long term use, but the last couple of months has been impressive.

The service man arrived on time and refinished the tub in a timely manner. The coating was apparently an oil based paint. The service man installed ventilation for the room while he was applying the paint, however he removed the ventilation soon after he applied the paint. It took awhile for the fumes to dissipate. Before he left he told me not to use or touch the tub for 10 or 12 hours. The masking tape was removed after about 12 hours. In doing so a place on the bottom of the tub was touched which was soft leaving an ugly impression. Apparently the paint was too thick to dry properly. The next morning I called the service man and he immediately returned and repaired the spot. The tub looks good but the finish is not as durable as I would like.

Aside from an odor that lingered for a day or two, this was an easy and inexpensive way to update a bathroom. It takes about 5 hours per bathroom. With new hardware I have two new bathrooms.

The technician was a little later than expected, but was very professional and completed the job in less time than expected.

Well, that tub is just as old as old can be. Surface Renew did a very good job of eliminating the areas that were bubbling up on the tub. We figured that it would be far cheaper for us to repair the tub than to have to purchase a whole new entire tub and have to deal with all of the plumbing and installation that would go along with getting a new tub. That is why we thought we would give Surface Renew a call in the first place. Their company logo on their business card says that its better to fix than put in new. It sounded like it was worth a shot, and we just can't throw money away because there are too many things that can go wrong on an older home. Overall, we were happy with the job that this company did. I'd say the tub looks about as good as its going to get! Now, we will probably have them come back and do work on the other bathroom as well.
