Precision Door

Deceptive in estimate and very high prices.

First scheduled maintenance had  a little less experience, but the man who actually did the work was capable and seemed very experienced. We would recommend this company.

.A technician came because the door was not operating properly, looked to be off track.  I did not ask for an estimate, which was my fault.  I had used 'Overhead Door' in the past and when I called the number in my Rolodex, the people stated that they used to be Overhead door but had changed their name  to Precision Door Service.  I now see on Angie's List that there is still an 'Overhead Door' company - don't know what that was all about.  My experience with the company I thought was the same had been good and reasonable and I assumed it would be the same. The tech did not say anything about needing a complete overhaul and finished in about 40-45 minutes. I was amazed things were fixed so quickly.( I did not watch him) He then presented me with a bill for $694.00 - I was upset and questioned the amount.  He immediately said, well, OK, I will take off the amount for labor...which left a bill for $542.49.  I was still unhappy but I wrote him a check, at which point he said, "Well, you can call the boss and maybe she'll lower the price and refund some money."  I did call her twice, but she did not return my calls. He had me sign that I had received services and only after he left did I see that it was a work order agreement, which should have been presented and agreed to before work began.  Again, it was my fault that I did not ask for an estimate, but one should have been offered before the fact, not after the service was completed. The estimated amount he filled in was the original bill and he scratched it out and put the charge with labor removed - so obviously it was not presented to me prior to service.  As far as the work, whatever he did got the door working again and it is still working 11 months later - but the way things were handled did not seem professional or trustworthy, and I do question that a complete overhaul was accomplished in such a brief period of time...but who knows.  I would not recommend this company.

The technicians arrived on time and did a good job.  However the price was too high compared to other garage door repair companies. There was an energy fuel surcharge of 55 tacked on to the bill. Googled the price of the same of 2 springs and found that the cost was much lower for the same on the Internet.

They arrived on time and explained what had happened to the door and what needed to be done and the cost. We gave them the go-ahead to do the work. They did it quickly. A couple of days later we had trouble opening the door and they came out again promptly. The problem was not their work but the board one of the side rails was attached to had become loose.. They fixed it but said we should eventually get a carpenter to replace the board.

It was a good experience with them. I would say from what I recall it was A's on everything. I would use them again if needed.

I was not happy with Precision Garage Door Service, because first they ordered the wrong part. Then when the right part came, in no one called or showed up. They also, did not take care of everything I needed done to the garage door and I had to call another company to do the work.

The service man was very professional and competent, and arrived in the allotted time that they committed to. He replaced 4 pulleys on the door that caused it to be serviceable again. While he was here, he also performed a checklist review on both doors to ensure that they were in good working order. I couldn't be more pleased with the company, the work that was done, and the serviceman.

They showed up when they said they would and they were very quick and professional. They were very easy to talk to and explained in detail how to operate the opener. We have been very satisfied with the ending results and we have not had any problems with their work. They guaranteed their work, so if there was a problem it is easy to have them come back out.

After I called them, they came right out and replaced the door because we had trouble opening it. They cleaned up really well and they re a very reputable company. They ve been in business for along time and I would recommend them.
