I am a local Realtor and I close over 50 homes a year- almost all of my clients use Housemasters. Phil and Annette are the utmost professionals , nothing gets past them and their reports are clear and concise ! If you are shopping for a Home inspector , Housemasters is the one I would pick every time!

Phil was very pleasant to work with on both occasions. He was very thorough in inspecting all areas of the house, answered all of my questions and went over all of the report at the house with me. He emailed me the report and told me to feel free to call him with any questions I might have. I was able to buy both homes with the confidence that we had addressed all major issues. I would highly recommend Phil to anyone who is purchasing a home and wants a good, honest inspector.

I hired P.A.J.S Services Inc., dba HouseMaster / Phil Avery to do a home inspection for me on 3/13/2017. He claimed to have checked the heat pump but didn’t. My wife was present during the inspection and followed him around. When he came to the thermostat to check the heat and air he left it on the EMR setting. When my wife questioned him about what the EMR setting was he told her it was the heat. He told he wasn’t going to check the air. At the time we was unaware of how a heat pump worked. We trusted this company to test everything. When we moved in the air wouldn’t work. We had a HVAC company come look at the unit. We was told that there was no way the unit had freon at the time of the inspection because it had a hole in the coils so big it couldn’t hold freon. It has had a bad circuit board that kept the compressor from operating. I have attempted to get the inspector to take responsibility for it but he is refusing. I had to pay for most of the expenses my self and am out $3828.10. I would hate for someone else to use this company and get in the same situation I am.
Response from HouseMaster Home Inspections
"When this client contacted our office, we immediately reviewed the report to determine what happened. Because we will not post details about the specific inspection report in a public forum such as this, we can simply reply by saying: We were hired to do an inspection for this client and make appropriate recommendations, which we specifically did regarding this HVAC unit. Unfortunately, he did not follow any of the recommendations we made in that section of the report. We followed up with the client the same day he called and explained we made recommendations that were not followed. He was unhappy with this answer. We make every effort to protect our clients, and our findings and recommendations are an important part of the inspection process. We are highly committed to providing thorough, accurate Inspections for every client who hires us. Thank you for allowing us to tell our perspective on this situation!"
