In brief, we were quoted $1,000 for the job.  Once started, the materials were not included.  So, I had to buy about $300 worth of materials.  The price changed with the receipts I was given, presumably for my job.  THen, a job that was supposed to take three days has taken two weeks because he started a week later than he said he was going to.  No communication about this.  When called, we were given a materials list that was supposed to be $160.  As I said before, it has been about $300 so far.  He hasn't shown up regularly because it is too hot to work and his two young children accompany him to jobs because they're out of school.  Last Friday, he asked for a draw against the $1,000 to "make payroll" for a job that was supposed to take three days.  In a nutshell, his problems have been made my problems.  There is no communication unless he wants money.  The work he's performed looks good but it's been so much aggravation that I would never us this business again.  Also, he wants checks made out to him personally and not the business because he doesn't have a business account at the bank.  This tells me that he's not what I consider a real business.
