Auto Body Work
$8,500
This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a body shop.  On 08/07/2013 I was rear ended by a pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed and who never hit his brakes.  It was determined that I was not at fault at all.  When the truck hit me my driver seat back broke.  The force of the impact threw me backwards to where my head and headrest where laying in the back seat.  Because of the force of the impact throwing my backwards I hit the left side of my car with the left side of my body throwing my left arm in the air causing me to tear my headliner with my engagement ring.  Please note that I purchased this car brand new with 6 miles on it, and I have been the only owner.  What he has done:
1. He told the insurance adjuster that he had a guy that could repair my headliner.  So now the insurance company will not replace my headliner and return it to pre-loss condition.  The kicker to all this is that the body shop has never used this guy, nor have they seen his work.  Its just some guy he has heard of.
2. Last week, my fiancé went by to check and my car and caught the body shop trying to put a rusted driver seat in my car that was pulled out of a wrecked Edge from some wrecking yard.  After going by the Ford dealership and asking about buying a new seat I was informed it is not possible to buy a new seat for my car.  I was informed the body shop was going to have to take the seat apart and order the replacement parts to fix my seat.
3. Two days later the body shop called and told me that they fixed my seat, and they wanted someone to come by and look at it.  My fiancé went by and pointed out all of the bent parts, and pointed out that my seat was still broken and bent.  They argued with him and sent there was nothing wrong with the seat.  I called the body shop and the owner told me "well you can't expect every part to be replaced in your car".   I said I most certainly can expect any part that was bent or broken from the wreck should be replaced.
4. I have had to retain an attorney to try and get my car fixed.
