I work at home most of the time, teaching online, so I use the computer at least 8 hours a day, every day. I don't have time for downtime. My workhorse computer had been acting up for about a month and had now crashed. I did as much cleanup as I knew how to do, but it wasn't working correctly. I had a coupon from a neighborhood flyer, knew nothing about John, but was unable to get prompt service from the big name places, so called him.
He answered the phone immediately and I explained the situation. It was late afternoon. He asked whether I could wait until the next morning and I said I could. He was there right on time the next morning, very nice man, pleasant with my dogs, clean, neat...I had no concerns about letting him in the house.
It took him over an hour and a half to clean and fix my machine, but he did it! Gave me recommendations for preventing reinfection and watched as I explored everything to be certain in all worked. One program didn't start because of a corrupted file and when he didn't have the correct driver, he said that he'd contact the company for a repair disc and would send it to me. My computer is like new, with that one exception. Everything works the way it did before I noticed the slowdown a month earlier. I had to reinstall only one software program.
The most amazing thing is that he did far more work than what that coupon would have paid for, but he charged me no more than the coupon price, even when I told him that I was perfectly happy to pay him more. I even tried to tip him and he wouldn't accept it. I would call him again for any computer problem.
Just a note; his card describes him as a Senior Engineer with over 25 years of experience. I believe it!
