Chuck was the second contractor I employed on this major renovation project. The first one was a nightmare and I had to fire him, chuck however was like a breath of fresh air after the last one. He was responsive had a great sense of humor and was wonderful to work with. My house was built in the 60's so it was not an easy project. No wall was level and after the last contractor I was very nervous but it worked out great. He turned up exactly when he said, kept me completely informed of everything and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the job. If you are looking for a contractor please ask Chuck to look at your job you will not be disappointed. I am more than happy to show off his work as previous clients of his were nice enough to do the same for me which is what convinced me to go with Chuck. I am now saving for him to do my new dream kitchen!
Description of Work: Chuck and his team did a major renovation of my house. new on suite bathroom, spare bath, crown moulding of entire house, removed popcorn ceiling of entire house, 4 new closets, fixed a water leak in my slab, update of electric, pot lights throughout.

Owner Chuck Rook visited our house to discuss the repairs and improvements needed and show us photos of similar work he had completed for other clients. He quickly got back to us with a quote, and also included an extensive list of references for us to call. One of the important reasons we selected him to do the work was his promise to work only on our job until it was completed, rather than juggle our job with other concurrent jobs as many home contractors do. We also sensed from the beginning an aesthetic awareness on his part, a real pride in his work and a desire to do things the right way. Once we agreed for him to do the work, Chuck met with us at a home improvement store to select tile and other items needed for the project. Both there and throughout the project, he seemed to go out of his way to help us minimize costs, pointing out relative material costs and options for saving money, where possible. Chuck parked a white trailer containing his equipment and supplies in our driveway and made arrangements for a large trash container to be left in front of our house during the project. He delayed the start of our project by one day in order to complete his work for the client before us. Once he started the project, Chuck and his assistant, David, showed up when they said they would, and worked quickly, efficiently and steadily until they reached a logical breaking point in mid- or late afternoon. On one day, they skipped lunch in order to complete some work in our kitchen so that we could use it again. We had other contractors working at part of the same time, and Chuck and David worked well with them, even assisting them at times to do things like carry in a heavy countertop. Throughout the project, we found Chuck to be conscientious, honest and easy to work with. We felt comfortable leaving him working in our home while we were out. He is resourceful, an excellent craftsman and problem solver, and skilled at many tasks. He anticipates needs and communicates well, calling us as needed to discuss decisions or to let us know if he would be late. He also has a good sense of humor, a plus in any working relationship. Overall, we were very pleased with the work done, and would recommend KC Development to anyone needing bathroom, kitchen or other home renovation work done.
Description of Work: KC Development replaced a bathroom shower, installed tile flooring and a tile kitchen backsplash, and made several other small, but important, home improvements.
