An elderly friend's lamp was separated from its base and, since the seal had been breached, it had gotten dirty and cloudy inside. It was a delicate job and because of the crystal, it had to be precise to avoid damage and to have it look perfect. There would have been no way to hide flaws. I figured it was going to cost a fortune, partly because it was a hard job and partly because the shop is in the Heights and the ladies who work there can be a little, well, snooty. But when I went to pick the lamp up, not only was the job exquisite, but the cost was far less than replacing the shade would have been. I was extremely pleased with the work, and lamp repair shops are not easy to find. Overlook the snooty ladies and take your lamps here. Fair price, good work.

My very expensive custom desk lamp had developed a short in the 3-way switch. While I contacted another electrical store source, they indicated they did not do that type of repair, but suggested "The shade above". While I did not know of them (relatively new company) I did take a chance, since I could not find another known repair service. They did an excellent job, on time, very friendly, and quite reasonable. This evening, I am enjoying my newly repaired custom lamp, back on my home office desk,working well, and no longer concerned about the electrical short. Job well done!
