Riley Hays Roofing & Construction

We bought our house 8/17/2020, a new roof was required to complete the purchase. It was installed on 8/13/2020 and email was sent to Jared at Riley Hays. It specifically stated that the Labor and Material warranties be put in our name. Riley Hays payment contract clearly states that they have "5 year warranty honored by Riley Hays Roofing & Construction". We experienced a leak around our chimney in November 2024 and called Riley Hays to come out and take a look to see if there was a failure in the shingles or issue with install. I was informed by Jared (same person email was sent to) that the payment for the roof was by the prior owner and that their labor warranty was applicable to paying homeowner unless specifically requested. I stated I had the email stating it was, he stated that only the shingles were transferred to me unless "specifically signed off by Mr Hays". I stated that we had that request and had not been told that it was denied. He stated he sees in our file that the shingles warranty was transferred to us. I asked why not the labor? He stated they have a 5 year warranty, but only to the paying party. I said, that was coverage for 4 days... you clearly don't really have a 5 year warranty.. he stated they have a 5 year.. I reminded him that was not possible unless they planned to come look at our roof. Long story short, they refused to come look at our roof under warranty. We called another company to find out that the flashing was not installed properly and had curled and allowed water to slowly seep around the chimney. Because of the design of our home, it had likely been leaking around that site since the installation but only caused enough issue to come through office ceiling at this time. Customer service is terrible.. they will come take the money to get the job done but do not trust them to acutally warranty their work . They will find loop holes and claim its not covered. I will NEVER recommend them or their services to anyone. I have emails and pictures to back up all that I have claimed...

The project manager is very professional and very helpful. The work took to long to begin from the point of hire to get on the schedule and the workers were not prompt in showing up. They basically set their own schedule and would show up hours after they should have. Instead of showing up in the morning as promised, they arrived at 4:30 in the afternoon. I asked the project manager to not send the same crew on the second day after they were 5 hours late. Another crew came that day but I had no idea if anyone was going to show up that day or another.

It took them one day. They got it done within eight hours. He had a team. There were no unexpected issues. They had everything. Everything they needed was there.

Riley was professional, attentive to detail, on time and fair priced. His crew worked from sun up to sun down. The job was finished on time and they cleaned up all debris much better than I have ever experienced. Nice people, great job!

They were really really great. The only blip was that they were overwhelmed with other appointments and my small job got overlooked a bit, but they were very cordial and apologetic. They came out and got the job done. Price was great and so far, no more leaking!

The crew was right on time and began work immediately.  They worked continuously except for a short lunch break and were able to complete the job in one day.

The foreman of the crew was the only one who spoke English and when he had to leave for a short time, it was difficult to communicate with his Spanish speaking crew but Mr. Hays happened to come by and was able to communicate our thoughts to them and everything worked out ok.   

After the crew left, we did find quite a few roofing nails lying in the shrubs, grass, driveway, etc but it was late when they finished so that may have contributed to the fast cleanup. 

Mr. Hays worked very closely with us to address all our concerns before the work began and he stopped by the job site numerous times throughout the day.  He was very professional and honest and it was a pleasure working with him.    

The entire process well very well. Mr. Hays was very courteous on the phone and promptly came out to give me an estimate.
 He arrived on time and I was impressed with his professionalism and manners. We agreed upon what was to be done and an estimte of cost was provided. When it was time for the work to begin, he and his crew arrived on time and wasted no time in providing the agreed upon improvements. Upon completion of the projects, lawn and driveway were picked up with scrap and excess being hauled away.

His crew was on time and they did things the way he promised. There were not hidden cost.
