I had a job offer that required me to leave town rather abruptly.  I wanted to clean my apartment after eveything was removed but I just didn't have the time.  I contacted Merry Maids as I had seen the store when meeting someone for an interview in the area.  Jim came by my place, we had a nice chat and he made me a quote.  After I left I realized the apartment much a much more significant mess than I had anticipated so I called him and apologized profusely and let him know I felt compelled to offer additional funds to the deal we had made.  He checked it out and completed the work for a pittance more than the original deal.  I was stunned.  I know now that I left the apartment complex  pleased, which was important not just on moral grounds but they had really become friends.  I wouldn't hesitate to contact Merry Maids again if I needed a clean up an oil refinery disaster.  I think the way they treated me was beyond my wildest expectations and I relay my thanks for their help.

Overall it did not go well.  The two ladies took just 48 mins to clean 6 rooms--Living Room, Family Room, Kitchen, Dining Room, Master Bedroom and Master Bathroom.  These are all large rooms. 

After they left my wife noticed that the blinds were still dirty--they immediately came back and dusted the blinds, but it was a cursory dusting as I can still see dust on all the blinds plus I had to re-adjust all the slats since in the process of dusting them they had them going in opposing directions (not a big deal, just a nuisance, but indicative of the rushed service we received). 
In the letter describing what they accomplished they stated "We washed baseboards, window sills, doors and door frames, corners and edges of the floors, ceiling fan blades, sliding glass door tracks. We dusted tops of drapes and valances, shades or blinds." 
In reality--in the 48 minutes they did not even accomplish the "general clean" let alone the "thorough clean" I thought I had agreed on with Merry Maids. They did vacuum, mop and dust some of the furniture.   However, in every room I found areas that were not even cleaned or dusted (I had intentionally not dusted anything the weeks prior to them coming so I could see how well they cleaned).  Baseboards are still dirty/dusty, corners on the hardwood floors were not cleaned, top of refrigerator was not dusted, some of the bathroom fixtures were not dusted, the sponge/cloth they used in the bathroom actually left a residue on the toilet and the shower door, kitchen counter was not cleaned well, lots of items in different rooms were not dusted.  You get the point--in 48 minutes you are not going to be able to clean 6 large rooms. 
I had expected them to spend at least 1-1/2 hours based on what I was told by Merry Maids (I was told that it takes about an hour and a half to do a "Groupon Special").If they had done a good job and were finished in 48 minutes I would not have said a thing--I expected them to clean to a standard, not a time, and I had even mentioned that to the manager when he came by to give me the estimate.  However, since they did not do a good job cleaning, the fact that they only spent 48 minutes here, time spent is an indicator (and apparently I would have paid $170 for that 48 minutes had I not used the Groupon special).

I was just so happy with their service. They were very friendly and personable and very self-directed. The price was very reasonable. I would really give them an A plus. And it wasn't so much the job but it was the fact that they had to move so much stuff around because I had a terrific storage problem in the small apartment. They didn't make me feel guilty about it. It was just wonderful and they left the place sparkling clean. They didn't do a lot of socializing among themselves; they were focused on the job. They were just great people. The salesperson who came and accessed the job was outstanding. I would use them again and I have recommended them too.

My son gave me a gift certificate for Merry Maids service. I arranged for a visit for an estimate; my husband hosted that. We arranged for a date, but were told that they could not specify a time, although they promised to call before they arrived. There was no phone call. Two women simply arrived at our door. They proceeded to the agreed upon rooms. My big issue is with the bathroom. Although she spent about two hours in a small bathroom, the floor had clearly visible marks and the floorboards were untouched; there was built-up dirt still visilbe near the tub. The shower/tub unit was streaky. And, she used some kind of chemical that left a smell like a cheesy public bathroom or cheap motel. It has one thing going for it, though--it lasts and lasts and lasts. After a month, it still stinks. Thus are we reminded of this costly mistake day after day.

I used to be satisfied with the service. They would call me the day before to remind me of the cleaning. If I left a note with requests for extra detail, they would do it for no extra charge. They broke a couple of things over the years, but always worked with me to replace or reimburse. They have recently gone through some big changes - complete management and workforce so they've told me. I no longer get the reminder calls although they promise me they have decided to continue doing this. I had come to rely on these, so now, they show up and I'm not prepared for them. The workers have told me that they will tell the office to reschedule with me, but the office does not call me to reschedule. I have had to call them every time. Also, the quality of the cleaning has gone significantly downhill, very sloppily and half done now. I will be finding someone else. Most of the other reports here are old and do not apply under the new management.

Horrible!! They can not do simple tasks! I had a party that afternoon and so they are my last hope. First of all, they arrived super LATE! Then they got cleaning and it ended up being $250.00. I was embarrassed by their quality of work during my party, as people saw the dust still there and sloppy vacuuming. I asked them to take out the trash in the back yard, and so they did, but they left it where my dogs had access to it. So my dogs spread the trash thorough my flower beds and I was there 5 minutes before my party, trying to clean it all up. Perhaps, I should send them a bill for compensation for my time in the backyard. I do not recommend them for any occasion, unless you want to be constantly behind them.

I needed some help to get the spring cleaning done in my home. I had heard good things about Merry Maids from my neighbor. The lady was very nice to work with. She had a good attitude and was hard working. I enjoyed visiting with her while we worked. She was here about five hours. I would recommend them to others.

I have been very pleased with Merry Maids, and that is why I have continued to give them business. I feel that they have a good sense of getting their cleanings done quickly and they are very thorough. I think what I pay them is actually quite reasonable for the amount of cleaning that they do. They really get our house clean.

I think they do an excellent job of cleaning the house. I called three other companies before I called them and they had the best price around. I like that they do all the basics as well as any special requests I may have at the time. The girls are always very nice and polite.

They worked hard, but they did not do the dishes and the laundry, but the other things in the line of cleaning such as the vacuuming was good. We were pretty much satisfied with what they did so I would hire them again. It was just those few issues I really didn t like that it was usually two people who came out to clean my home.
