All of this had started during a period of thunderstorms passing thru Little Rock--lots of thunder and lightning from about 6:30pm until about 7:30pm last night. But no wind damage to our neighborhood, no downed trees or tree limbs, etc. and none elsewhere in WLR that I saw driving around today. Well morning came and still no TV or internet service. So called Comcast service rep again and this time was told that indeed now it appears that they could not communicate with any of our household equipment (cable box or internet modem). Then was told that it appeared that the earliest they could get a service technician to come to our house to investigate the problem would be in SEVEN DAYS!!!!! At this point the service rep stated that they were going to initiate an Urgent Ticket request to have this repair done immediately and stated to me that they would call me back in 4 hours to check and see if my service had been restored. This was at about 1pm (7/16) I had intermittently been also going to the Xfinity-Comcast online website (obviously using my iPhone since our internet was down) and the night before I had always consistently received confirmation that per Comcast our Internet and TV service were in fact connected. When I went back on my phone to check again after this latest call, what do you know, it says that there has been a service outage to our local area and that our internet and TV service were not connected. There was a message that they expected to have our service back up around 8pm today. (7/16)Keep in mind I had checked this online the night before repeatedly over about 4-5 hours and it always indicated that we were still connected, now suddenly the Xfinity online indicates we are not. So 5pm rolls around, guess what, still no service and no call back either (go figure). So I decided to get out and drive to my local Comcast office in hopes of talking to a real live person, who can perhaps give me a straight story--at least a shred of insight and truth. Got there at 5:45 just 15 min before closing. Same song and dance, can't figure out on their end what is wrong, yeah we see you should have gotten a call back-don't know why that didn't happen, sorry, and oh by the way, yeah we have you scheduled for a service call on 7/23/15--one week later, wish we could make it sooner but right now we have a local shortage of technicians. I left and drove home, thinking, really, this is the "Comcast guarantee" in action. Stopped and ran an errand on way home, by time I got there at 7pm, I was amazed to discover our internet back up and running, but still no cable TV. Called Comcast online rep again, got the same dumbfounded response as I had before--now they think it must be a signal problem with the cable TV and no we don't show any service outage in your area. So why is my internet working again?? Don't know. Still have to wait a week for a service call at my home to figure it out. But, if we have a service cancellation, we may be able to work you in sooner. Great, same old same old. Went out to movie with my wife just before 8pm, thinking maybe just maybe, TV service would be back up. Got home again about 10:30pm. Nope, no TV service, though thankfully internet still works. The most frustrating part of this whole ordeal is never getting a straight or consistent answer from anyone in Comcast service dept about the nature of the problem. And a week to get out to my house to try and solve it, what is this 1975??(We have internet home phone service so at least we have that too.). In my opinion such poor service as this is very likely the result of the FCC allowing regional monopolies on cable TV service--with no competition you get what ever service your local provider decides you will get. I could understand a prolonged outage if there had been major storm damage, but come on. And none of my neighbors seem to have any outage of their service. I have been a Comcast customer for approx 20 yrs now and though I have been intrigued by Satellite TV offers, I have always heard about outages or poor reception during storms with satellite TV service. Well I tell you this, I am now SERIOUSLY looking at DISH Satellite TV service and may pull the trigger on having it installed tomorrow. That way when the Comcast service technician finally makes it to my house in about a week, he will have a short service call--just long enough to pick up his companies equipment and take it with him.
Description of Work: Lost cable TV and internet service at about 7pm on evening of 7/15/15, called Comcast about 8pmand was told there was a local outage and it should be up by 10pm. By 11:30pm still no service, so called Comcast service rep again, she tried refreshing signal to our cable box. Didn't work. So we were told to unplug our cable box and internet modem for a minute, then plug them back in. After doing that we lost channel guide on cable TV which had previously been still displaying the shows on each channel (at that point would only show "To be announced" on every channel and in every time slot. Called Comcast back and was told that they had a record of only a brief service outage in our area and that per their online check of our system, we were still online and connected to both our TV and internet. Neither worked though of course. It was late now (almost 2am) so we went to bed hoping it would be worked out by morning.

My wife and I built a home in Sherwood, AR. In November of 2013 I called and spoke to Comcast, telling them where we were going to build and they assured me that the area once built would be within their coverage. Over the past few months I have been calling to get services set up and I have been given the runaround about why no one has returned my calls. When I asked if the survey had been done yet, I found out it was done just last week. Even tho it was requested over 3 weeks ago. There were 4 people I spoke with about this service being set up, all of them promised to follow up with me regardless of the findings from the survey to let me know if it was within their coverage area. Today, I called and was informed that my home is in fact NOT within their coverage! Now, I have nothing available to me.
Description of Work: What did they do? Lied to me about availability. Never called back when they promised. Come time for the installation and they did nothing to let me know that they were not coming.

When I would call to have my bill corrected, it took many phone calls and a lot of patience. When I called to have my service typed changed because it just kept getting more expensive, it took months to get my bills corrected. Internet service was always terrible slow. I did not have trouble with cable service, other than incorrect billing. Again, if there is another company available, use them instead!
Description of Work: I used Comcast for internet and cable while living in Little Rock and it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. If there are other options available, they're worth trying. Incorrect, overbilling, billing for things I did not sign up for, etc.
