MITCHELL'S HOME IMPROVEMENT

It went great!!!!

He was paid, leading me to believe he was finished with parts of the job.  He did not respond to requests to finish work.  He would not answer phone alls.  When we connected by phone, he promised to appear at a cerain date, but would not show up.  he started out doing an impressively good job.  As time wemt on over a two year peiriod, he would become unavailable for weeks at a time.  He denied working on other jobs due to employee issues, but finally admitted to going to other jobs, leaving me staranded.  When he collected all his money, he diappeared,never to return.  Many stories can be told, but this is sufficient.  Word to the wise:  contracts are only as good as the person making them.  I learned my lesson.  I will never contract with anyone unless I determine he is bonded, providing documents confirming.

The start  seemed  promising, demo went well, in fact the first 2 weeks were ok.  Then things stared going downhill, he had two Hispanic young men working, one of them tracked the glue, all over the very expensive floors, Mitchell promised to take care of it(I the wife, cleaned it up on my hands and knees) he would start one part and go to another.  Show up one day and not show up for 2 or 3 it was a nightmare, finally he left for lunch on 8/22/2012 and we have not seen nor heard from him again.  My husband and I finished the job ourselves.
We are proud of the job we did!

We paid him $3000 up front and in the end the total we paid him was $4500. He would work a few hours then leave. The new cabinets he built did not match my existing cabinets. I told him it would not work and he said he would fix it. He has done nothing but make a mess. What should have been a week job has turned into 2 months. He quite showing up and the work is unfinished. He asked for more money and we ended up giving him another $700. He wouldn't show up for a few days then we would see him.
