Description of Work: I had a metal roof put on and they put it on the wrong direction. We had leaks and I had to beg him to come out.

Description of Work: Built me a shop building. |Very efficient work crew that obviously work together all the time. 30x 52 shop when up in 2 days after pad was pored. Work done as agreed on time and at agreed price.

 + -1 moreOverall we were able to use the facility for the intended purpose - after many corrections .
Description of Work: We had to call Mr. Yutzy back to fix poorly instaled windows and doors 5 or 6 times - he never did CORRECTLY seal the leaks and did not even try to calk one of the doors at all . The doubble entry door was not installed correctly. The corners of the building were done in a non standard way which left no nailers for interior wall finishing , and the insulation that he recomended and used was NOT sufficient . I do personaly like Mr. Yutzy but he does not follow standard construction guidelines . Also , it is worth noting that even though he knew that we would be using the building as a game room (with std paneling and finishing) , he did not pay much attention to getting the studs on center , so it required a LOT of scabing on nailers . Overall , we would have done better to use a contractor with a higher bid.

 + -1 moreResult: -they did not repair the decking where we had asked them to (and it was part of our quote); -the roofing was not installed properly: -the edges/overhangs were of varying length from 1/4" to 2 1/2" along each roof line, allowing water to wick underneath or overshoot the gutters; -they did not install flashing around the plumbing vents or the kitchen exhaust vent -they did not install flashing next to or around the chimney which caused leaking and water damage to the decking and facia within the first year. When my husband went on the roof to look at the area, he found that they had used about 3-4 cans of silicone caulking to try to keep water from going underneath the roof next to the chimney where there should have been flashing and it had seperated from the chimney; -they did not reinstall the rain guttering properly causing water to pool and ice to form that lifted the roofing in some areas. Subsequently, we decided to have new rain gutters installed and they told us the gutters were not level which caused the pooling. Further, the roof was not secured to the roof in many areas where the roofing screws were visible. We called Mr. Yutzy and asked him to come and make repairs. He sent his young son, who told us he was actually the installer (no wonder). When we asked him to fix the chimney flashing area where the caulking had pulled away from the chimney, he just squirted another couple cans of caulking to fill the gaps. He said there was nothing he could do to fix the overhang issue. We were unaware of other hidden issues with their install until two different roofing inspected the work and gave us their advice. We ended up paying another roofing company nearly $3000 to build a cricket in front of the chimney along with proper flashing to slow water flow against it, install seals along all the seams that Yutzy did not do, install flashing around all the vents that Yutzy did not do, and to install edging along the roof lines to get a consistent width that would direct rain into the gutters vs shooting over the top.
Description of Work: Buyer Beware: This company gave us a great price to reroof our house and garage with metal roofing along with a repair to the roof decking in one corner of the house where there was damage. On the day scheduled for them to work, we had a family emergency so we had to be away while the work was completed. I would not recommend anyone ever allow work to be done on their property unless they are at home.
