Overall we were able to use the facility for the intended purpose - after many corrections .

Result:
-they did not repair the decking where we had asked them to (and it was part of our quote);
-the roofing was not installed properly:
-the edges/overhangs were of varying length from 1/4" to 2 1/2" along each roof line, allowing water to wick underneath or overshoot the gutters;
-they did not install flashing around the plumbing vents or the kitchen exhaust vent
-they did not install flashing next to or around the chimney which caused leaking and water damage to the decking and facia within the first year. When my husband went on the roof to look at the area, he found that they had used about 3-4 cans of silicone caulking to try to keep water from going underneath the roof next to the chimney where there should have been flashing and it had seperated from the chimney;
-they did not reinstall the rain guttering properly causing water to pool and ice to form that lifted the roofing in some areas.
Subsequently, we decided to have new rain gutters installed and they told us the gutters were not level which caused the pooling. Further, the roof was not secured to the roof in many areas where the roofing screws were visible.
We called Mr. Yutzy and asked him to come and make repairs. He sent his young son, who told us he was actually the installer (no wonder). When we asked him to fix the chimney flashing area where the caulking had pulled away from the chimney, he just squirted another couple cans of caulking to fill the gaps. He said there was nothing he could do to fix the overhang issue. We were unaware of other hidden issues with their install until two different roofing inspected the work and gave us their advice.
We ended up paying another roofing company nearly $3000 to build a cricket in front of the chimney along with proper flashing to slow water flow against it, install seals along all the seams that Yutzy did not do, install flashing around all the vents that Yutzy did not do, and to install edging along the roof lines to get a consistent width that would direct rain into the gutters vs shooting over the top.
